      Chapter 47

Thursday came and went, Eliana and I were able to take a small flight, but not for long, there is a great threat out there, and things are going to get worse before they get any better.

Now it's the one day I don't like, it's my birthday and also it's the day of the Christmas party.

Like Quinn said the other night, we only had the shop open for a couple hours, then Lisa and Tina met us at the house to get ready and head over to the party together.

The other night Lisa had left her drees at the house, so she wouldn't forget it, and Tina brought everything she thought we might even remotely need to get ready, which is a lot.

"What is that man making?" Lisa asked coming into my room her hair in a towel. "I have no idea, whatever it is smells amazing." I said putting the finishing touches on Tina's makeup. "You know what girls I think we are going to the best dressed ones there." "For sure." They both said in unison.

I just sat down for the girls to start on my hair, when Quinn came into the room with a small platter of food.

Taking one look around, and he looks as though he wants to be anywhere but here right now, with the three of us in a robe of some decryption, his face is turning all red.

"I think we have frightened that boy. Best put him out of his misery, before he passes out."

She's right, he does look a little pale. "Thanks Quinn, but I thought there would be food there? What is all this?" He nodded. "There will be, but this is to tide you over until then. We still have a couple hours before we need to be there."

Setting down the tray, he left as fast as he could, and Lisa can't help but laugh, as I can hear his footsteps retreating down the hall, quickly.

"I thought we was going to pass out right in front of us." She said as she started curling my hair at the ends. "You will be stunning this evening." I smiled and tried to stay still.

Tina and Lisa got my hair done, and I helped them with there's. Someone knocked on the door, making us all jump. "Well that was interesting. I would think you would be more alert then that. My dear."

Rolling my eyes, I went to the door.

"Are you almost ready? We have to be there soon."

"We will but a few more moments." Looking Quinn up and down, he's in his suite more or less, but he looks amazing.

"Down girl. Not here."

Smiling, I closed the door on him, so we can finish getting dressed. We zipped each other into our dresses, mine fits perfectly the red complementing my pale skin perfectly.

My Celtic moon hanging around my neck, turning looking in the mirror, there's no sign that that there was ever claw marks on my back, to begin with. Those claw marks still make no sense to me though. Why did they show up after the attack like they did? And why would they have shown up like that? Shrugging it off, I looked at the girls.

Tina in her long black dress, and Lisa in my purple number.

We all look amazing. Stepping out of my room, we found Quinn sitting in the dining room, with our coats lying across the table. He looked us up and down, smiling as his gaze roamed over me. "You all look stunning. Are we ready?" I nodded, and Quinn came to stand in front of me. He gave me a sweet slow kiss, whispering against my lips. "Happy birthday." And helped me with my jacket.

Taking my arm, he led us out the door; locking it behind us. It has snowed at some point, and everything looks like a winter wonderland.

I got in the front and the girls managed to get in the back, of Quinn's escape. Driving through town, there's lights covering every building, but there's no one really on the streets, as we turned heading to Quinn's old house, and the Mayors home.

Pulling up to the house, there's lights in every tree, and covering the house.

It looks beautiful, but going in terrifies me like no other.

Someone opened the door for us, and parked the car. Quinn took my arm, and the four of us walked up to the door, without knocking; Quinn opened the door, and a hundred different voices, hit me like a wall.

"Be brave my dear. It will be fine. When they are distracted, we can slip away and search the house."

I smiled at the thought, of finally finding some of the answers I need. Taking our coats, the four of us moved further into the house, saying hello to people as we past them.

The house is richly decorated; it looks beautiful, and smells like a forest.

"Welcome. We are so happy you all could come." His aunt and Uncle said coming out to greet us.

"Thank you for inviting us."

They gave us each a light hug and got us each something to drink. "We have to see some people, have a wonderful time. All of you."

They said disappearing into the crowed.

Lisa and Tina wandered off, leaving Quinn and I standing there. After a moment, he took my glass, leading me through the house.

"Where are we heading?" "We are snooping." He whispered in my ear. I gave him a look.

"I know you want to, and frankly so do I. I want to know what they know about dragons. If they have some information that I don't know about, then I have to find out what it is, if there something that can help us. Then we will find it."

Leading me towards a door at the back of the house, the way we're moving I have to gather my dress, so I don't trip on it, we stopped to make sure no one is looking and slipped through, stepping through the hall is dark; but I can see fairly well, with my dragon vision; until Quinn hit a switch.

"Where are we?" "Someplace I have been in a couple times. But not in a while. Come on let's see what we can find."
