  Chapter 60

"The girls are out cold." I said closing my bedroom door, where Quinn is waiting for me. "They had quite the time those two."

Shortly after dessert both of them passed out on the couch, so we put them in my room; hopefully they won't mind being in the same bed together, but it's not the first time.

Curling up on the couch, my head against his chest, feeling his heartbeat.

"We should get some sleep, we are going be quite busy for the next few days." "What will we be doing?" "Training. I gave you the pass for a couple days, but tomorrow we get right back to it." Lowering my voice, so the girls won't hear and wake. "I want Cormac dealt with, once and for all." I didn't look at him as I said it, but I can feel him staring down at me. Wondering if I've lost my mind or not.

"Do not give me that look. Today was the last straw. Within the next few days, he will be gone; one way or the other!"

His arm around my chest tightened, holding me tighter against him.

"I know you're upset. But you don't know what you're saying. If you go through with this, there's no going back. It will change you; and I won't lose you to something like that."

"You won't lose me. But I am sick of living in fear. If we don't do something about him, then I will leave and go find somewhere else to build a life for myself."

He moved his lips to my ears, his breathe making my skin tingle.

"You are not leaving me! I thought when I came back here, my life would be over. That day when I saw you; I knew that I was wrong. You are not leaving, the town or me! I will not lose everything I have put together here!"

His voice is a low growl in my ear. "I won't leave, but I won't just sit around and wait for him to attack again." "I know. We will take care of him, I swear it."

"He really does love you, you know. He won't let you leave. I know you're thinking about it, but he will stop us if we try to leave."

I know she's right, but I won't let him come to any harm because of us.

"It's getting late. Let's head to bed." I nodded, as he removed his arm, but to only take my hand.

I told him I would go up to my old room upstairs to sleep, but he told me I would do no such thing, that I'm sleeping with him. I want to argue, but I know he won't hear any of it.

Quinn gave me the room to change, then I did the same for him. After changing, I crouched down next to bed, looking under.

"What are you doing my dear?"

"Checking to see if the sword is still under there."

Pulling out the case, I didn't get the chance to open it, Quinn knocked on the door; making me jump. Shoving it back under the bed, I got up just in time as Quinn opened the door.

"Are you decent?" "Yes of course. Come on in."

I said pulling down the covers, stepping out of my shoes, climbing into bed. Quinn had changed into some sweats to sleep in, but his chest is bare. I had slipped into a nightgown, pulling the covers up; after he got in next to me.

Lying on my side away from him; I felt him move closer to me spooning me from behind.

"I'm sorry if I frightened you earlier. I didn't mean to. What the both of us have lost, I just don't want us to lose anything else." Moving my neck so I can look at him.

"I know. But everything he's done. I just want him out of our lives; for good."

"Wake up sleepy head." Opening my eyes, Tina is lying next to me in bed. Where is Quinn? And Lisa for that matter? "What are you doing in here?" She gave me a smile, and flicking my nose.

"I came to get you of course. Lisa and I have to get going soon." "Oh okay." I sat up; Lisa is dressed, but not in what she was wearing last night. But it's nothing of mine either.

Tina left me to dress, pulling on a pair of jeans and a top, I went out; the three of them are making breakfast in the kitchen. Poking my head in the den, all the girls' gifts are gone, but they left their stockings, behind.

"Well there she is. We were starting to wonder if you would ever wake."

Quinn said carrying a hot pan over to the table.

"Have a seat." He gave me a peck on the cheek, and handed me a mug of much needed Coffey.

"How did you two sleep?" I asked sitting next to Tina. "Good." They both said at the same time.

"Thanks for letting us stay here. But after we eat, we have to take off." "Is everything alright?" They nodded." "Yeah. I have to get to the diner actually." Tina said. "What about you Lisa?"

"I have an appointment. And I can't cancel it." "Okay. I understand."

We lapsed into silence as we ate; I have a feeling that there keeping something from me, but I won't ask them about it, not yet at least.

After we finished eating, we walked the girls to the door. "We will open the shop in the morning." "Yes of course." "Tina you are welcome to join us." "Thank you, but I have to get back to the diner, it tends to go badly if I'm not there."

Quinn nodded, moving closer to me so his arm is around my waist.

"I understand completely."

We all hugged and they went on their way. Locking the door behind us; I changed into workout clothes and went downstairs, with Quinn right behind me.

Grabbing some knives, I said tossing him a couple and said.

"Alright we are going to fight with these, and hand to hand combat. I have seen this done, but I haven't done it myself so much. So let's see what we can accomplish. And remember I heal quickly, so don't hold back."

"I don't understand how you heal so quickly."

He said looking me up and down. Shrugging I said. "Well I don't either really, but it must be something in my blood, but it doesn't work on others; I have tried, to heal others, but it doesn't. Now stop stalling; let's go."

Sighing, he pulled off his shirt, his taught muscles moving with every motion, making me a little light headed, so I need to stop staring at him, and get back to the subject at hand. Putting on some music, he took position advancing on me.

We've been doing this for days now, he has improved exponentially, but he can still improve, and I will ensure that he does.
