Stepping into the house, Mia is in her kitchen; and Lilith ran at me practically jumping into my arms.
I held her in my arms as I walked into the kitchen. "Hello dear. Would you like some tea?" "Sure one cup, but I can't stay for long; I have something planned for a little while." "Oh sounds like fun. One cup coming right up."
She poured me one, and poured herself another cup.
"So how was your day?" Shrugging. "It was good. At one point we sold out, so we had to start from scratch. It was crazy in there." "Wow. That's great dear. I'm glad that it's going so well." I nodded, taking a sip from my tea. We spent the next few minutes talking, about our days, and what not. Until I realized the time, and said. "Listen thanks for everything, but I really need to go." She nodded. "Of course dear. Don't let me keep you any longer." Moving back from the counter, I said. "And thank you for taking care of the cat for me. I don't know how she got out." "It's no problem, I quite like cats. She and you are both welcome down here anytime you like." "Thank you. I will see you later on."
I left her, and went upstairs, Lilith still in my arms, purring away. Stepping through my door something still feels out of place, but I can't figure out what it is.
Locking the door behind us, I set her down on the couch, and went into my room and changed out of my works clothes, and started getting things ready for Tina coming over. I just hope that I will have enough time before she gets here. Lil jumped on my bed, and swatted at me with a paw, trying to get my attention. "What is wrong with you today? Why are you so needy all of the sudden?"
"She misses you is all. But she is an odd cat that one."
She hissed and hopped off the bed, and left the room. Well that was odd. Taking the envelope of cash from my purse; I hid it in the box in my closet, along with the rest of my money.
Doing a sweep, I made sure the place is decent, and went into the kitchen and got things ready there.
Just as I set out some of the food I bought, Tina knocked on the door. Opening it, she looks like she's been crying. Pulling her in, I closed and locked the door, and ushered her into the living room. Sitting her on the couch, I poured her a glass of wine, handing it to her I said.
"What happened? When I left you earlier you were fine."
She nodded; taking a sup of her wine.
"I don't know what to do now. I need to leave, but I don't want to. Shayla help me. Tell me what to do."
"I can't do that. Only you can tell you what to do." "But I can't figure out what to do." Rubbing her back. "Okay. Sleep on it, think about it for a few days; then make your decision." She nodded, taking another sip of her wine trying to calm her nerves.
"What are you going to do? She can't leave. She won't be able to handle it out there on her own."
"Tina I will be right back, I just need to grab something." She nodded, drinking the last of her wine. Once I'm out of earshot I said to her.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Tell her she needs to stay here in town. I don't think she will be able to handle it. And so do you, I know you do. I like her, and I know you do as well. We need to keep her safe."
Sighing, I looked out at her, pouring herself another glass of wine.
"Your right, I just don't know how to tell her."
"Let me handle it. Let me take control, and I will talk to her."
"No. you can't talk to her."
"Just give me control over your voice. It won't take long."
"Fine. Just don't change my eyes, she will freak if you do that." Closing my eyes, I let her take over slightly.
Clearing my throat, we grabbed the tray and went back out to the living room, with me watching and hoping that she doesn't screw this up.
"Here we are, we're all set. Now I don't have a TV as you can see, but I do have a laptop, and a couple movies that we can watch if you want to." She nodded, taking a chip from one of the bowels. "But before we do anything else, there is something I need to tell you." Taking a deep breathe, she said in my voice.
"I think it will be best if you do stay in town, at least for now. I've been out there for a long time; and it's not nice, and it's not easy. You have a good thing going here." She gave me a look. "So you think I should stay here forever?" Shaking my head. "No just for now. Take some time and make a plan, for where you might go, and things you might see, or do. Then decide if or when you want to leave."
Leaning back on the couch sitting there for a moment not saying anything which is a little odd, but she nodded and turned to me.
"Your right. I should stay here, and I will, but one day I will go out there, I just have to be patient; and bide my time. But one day I will go out there, and see some new things." She smiled using my body. "Good. Now let's have some fun."
She closed my eyes, and allowed me total control over my body once again. Settling back down Eliana sighed and said.
"There you are my sweet. Our sweet little Tina will be safe, and you can now rest easy. Have fun, but not too much."
I rolled my eyes and taking a sip of my wine. Sitting back she said. "So tell me what is up between you and Cormac I've heard that there was something, but I don't know the whole story."
The look she's giving me, I know that it's something that she wants to know, but I don't know how much I can tell her, but I have to tell her something.
So I told her. "Oh it's nothing." She gave me a look. "Don't give me that. I know you have had words; so just tell me what it is. I have seen part of it for myself." Downing my wine, I poured myself another; and said.
"We knew each other when we were younger, and there was a huge falling out, between our two families; and apparently he still holds some grudges because of it. Now I don't want to talk about it anymore."
"Ok that's fine. But if you want to talk about anything else, I'm here; you know that right?" I nodded. "I know, and thank you. You know Tina you might be my best friend."
I had one in Jess, but I had to leave her behind; and I can never go back to that part of my life.
"Well you're my best friend. It's been a long time since I've had someone like you."
She hugged me, and I can already smell the wine on her, she's very close to being drunk, even though she has only had a couple glasses of wine. She should stop now while she's ahead, but I know she won't.
It will be like the last time, it will end with me putting her to bed, because she drank too much again.
"We just have to watch her, and make sure she doesn't go to overboard like last time."
I nodded, taking a sip of my wine, watching her.
