Thinking of my mate had now began as my daily routine. I can remember the way she smiled , laughed , how she's so determined to hide her feelings, how she's so determine to make herself believe that she's the monster. Every waking moment I watch her sleep and thank the moon goddess for giving me her as my mate I couldn't ask for a better mate and the fact that she went through so much heart break and tragedy is even better , it just shows how strong she really is. I watched my pack train from afar, they've been accomplishing great deals and it's all because of my mate who trains them every day.
After a long hours of meeting with the neighboring alpha's finally ended. I turned of the engine and walked in the house, setting my keys down, members greeting me along the way. I made my way to the lounge where every pack members hangs out and chat chat, I had thought that no one would be there since it's ten at night but Leah and was there on the phone
"yes sir he wont know"
was the last thing I heard before she hung up
"know what?"
she jumps at my voice
"oh Alpha, you startled me, uhm that was my dad, he wants me home but I've found my mate and I didn't really want to tell him"
she answers with a sadden look
"congratulation and I'm sure you both will work something out, mates should be understanding and a father should be there for their daughter "
she smiles at me and bid a good night. I return the same and walked to my room which instantly the atmosphere changed, the closer I got to my room the more suffocating like it felt. I entered with an ajar door , the room was dark,
"Bethany?"
I searched through the darkness , only a small amount of light through the window from the beautiful moon was shining through the room. I could hear a heart beat somewhere here and the scent that was unfamiliar and worrying filled the room, my heart beat sped, worries began to take me, worried for my mate, only when I entered more into my room did I noticed her, in the corner, her knees wrapped around by both of her arms, shivering and rocking, slowly I made my way towards her, careful not to alarm or scare her
"Bethany, baby, it's me Shane"
putting my hands out making my way towards her until I finally wrapped my arms and pulled her to my embrace, I let out a sigh.
Bethany laid quietly on the bed, it's been hours and yet she hasn't spoken and it's worrying me, I've called the pack doctor only to be received with a shocking news, according to the doctor she was somehow paralyzed and we are uncertain of when she will come out of her state. I had taken a quick shower, worried that something would happen to my mate, after getting clothes I pulled the blanket and covered my mate with it, as if shielding her from all the dangers. I stayed awake for a few more hours, in thought of what had caused my beautiful mate to enter her state, if not what then who?, and if it were a who, I would find him or her , make them pay for causing my mate to this state, already I missed her laugh and smiles, her beautiful eyes that lights up my world and instantly make me fall in love with her even more by just the way she looked at me. I laid down after kissing her forehead, reached for her and pulled her to my embrace,
"please my beautiful mate, come back to me, I need you"
with that I let sleep take me, with my mate in my arms fast asleep.
Two days, then three , then four to a week has my mate stayed in her state, everyone in the pack had visited her. Sally is worried about her, my parents as well and now here I am restless unable to sleep for a couple of days because of my worries, now waiting for Bethany's mother who I had called the next day I had found her in her state. The car slamming could now be identified as her mother along with her scent and another, she enters the living room with a women behind her who looked exactly like her. I looked between them, instantly putting my guard up along with everyone else
"no need for that, this is my sister, she knows what to do and where's my daughter?"
we led her to Bethany's room, where her body laid, colors draining from the seen of it, which made me worried more
"how long has her skin been this color?"
the unfamiliar lady ask
"oh how rudely of me, my names Alice"
Alice introduced herself and I answer her question
" her skin began to show that color two days ago, please save her I can't lose my mate"
I begged which was rare for an alpha but this was my mate laying in bed in the verge of death
" oh trust me I will not lose my niece again"
again? I asked myself, has this happened before? before I could ask her, her statement startled me
" yes Alpha Shane this had happened before, I just hope it's not as bad as it was before"
she looked at her niece with sadness
"what do you mean worse?"
this time Penelope answered
"When Ryder died and Emilian died, the two she cared for so much, Bethany went to a coma, I felt my daughters pain, I felt her body building up with so much anguish and I couldn't do anything. As a mother I took some of that pain, as one of my gifts but I couldn't take all of her pain, it was something not for my daughter, it was so much that I weep for her all night for month"
she stops as if she relive that memory and looked at her daughter,
"that's when I decided to get my sister because I couldn't stand my daughter in pain for so long, even though I knew it could potentially be risky"
this time Alice spoke
"you see , I have the power to enter you're conscious mind and visit wherever you are, whatever memory you are in and help you see between the reality and imitation, but unfortunately my niece , I had a difficult time finding her"
what? did she mean by finding her
"it means she wasn't in her memories , and yes I can read minds"
I looked at her surprised she chuckles
"my niece was no where in her mind or memories, she was-"
Alice looked at Penelope , they locked eyes and can worries increase? because right now all my feeling was fear.
"my niece, she was somewhere else, not in her mind or memory but outside of her mind a place that is impossible for someone to enter and exit"
