inspired by a scene from the first episode of riverdale :)
I sat in my room, my fingers playing with my dress that I still had on. My hair was covering my face which was covered in tears. Why did I even go to that party? Why did I let her go in that closet with Shawn? I trusted them, but at the same time I knew what happened in there; they didn't even have to tell me.
"Honey, Shawn's been standing in front of our house for a while." My mother knocked on my door softly. I told her vaguely what happened and she let me have my alone time.
I decided to get up and see what he wanted. Being next door neighbors with the guy you've had the hots for since forever really sucks. I swiftly walked down the stairs and slowly opened the door. Shawn stood there, his hair all messed and his hands tucked in his pants pocket. I crossed my arms as I walked down the steps, but I kept my distance from him.
"I'm not going to ask what you did with Y/F/N at Cheryl's," I started out with. "But I'm asking you right now, right now, if you love me Shawn? Or even like me?"
Yes, I was being straight forward with this, but I needed to know. This summer we were getting somewhere, and now I wanted to know if that was going both ways or not.
"Of course I love Y/N," Shawn sighed. "But I can't give you the answer you want."
I wanted to scream at him, but I knew I would only make things worse. "Why?"
"You are so perfect. I've never been good enough for you. I'll never be good enough for you."
Yes you would! Was what I wanted to say, but I couldn't deal with him right now. I tried holding back the tears as I backed away from him. Shawn's pained stare followed me as I walked back into my house.
