It was dark.
... until I felt the burn of sunlight drift over my eyelids. Why was it so bright...? My eyes squinted, not feeling used to the light.
The scent of fresh vegetation filled my nose as I lay on the grassy bed. The gentle melody of chirping birds and a river cascading over rocks filled my ears.
Blinking several times, I struggled to adjust to my surroundings. My eyes opened to see the blur of a flower before me. Unusual in its size and colour, its petals were a palette of vibrant hues, each colour unique and radiating with life.
Curious by this, I lifted my head to observe my surroundings.
"A... forest...?" my voice was barely a whisper as I spoke to myself, trying to make sense of the situation.
My whole body felt heavy, yet so fragile. Slowly, I pushed myself up, my legs wobbling under my weight. As I stood, I felt a wave of dizziness and nausea wash over me. I stumbled a few steps before regaining my balance, fighting the heaviness in my limbs.
My eyes scanned the surroundings, taking in the beauty of the flora and fauna in the forest.
The setting sun continued to beat down on my skin as I slowly regained my senses.
This place is so unfamiliar. So bright and pretty. Am I... in heaven? What was I doing before now?
As I tried to take everything in, my mind began to race. Although the nature enclosing me emitted so many sounds... It was silent. Empty. A sense of isolation washed over me.
I raised my hand to push my hair behind my ear. That's when I noticed it...!
A tear? My eyes are watery. Why?
It took a few seconds for my mind to collect itself...
