Last Summer

Chapter seven - "not everything revolves around you"

"Guys I'm really not in the mood to go out" I say to my friends who turned up to my hotel room at nine o'clock the the next night with supply bags in hand

"Well too bad we're going out tonight" Rachel says leaving her make up box down on my table and her clothes on my bed

"What's the celebration?" I ask

"A proper welcoming you to LA" Maddie says and takes the held up curls out of her hair

With a few more words of persuasion I finally just agree to go and grab my stuff to get ready

"It's just us right?" I ask putting on some music

"Yep but only because Luke is having a family dinner"

Around an hour later we are all ready. Maddie's in a skin tight red dress with a pair of red heels, Rachel's wearing a navy skintight jumpsuit and I'm wearing a black bandeau top and black leggings that is laced up on the sides with adidas superstars.

The taxi arrives to pick us up a few minutes after we ask the nice guy at the reception desk to order us one.

"Arminio's Night club please" Maddie says as we get into the back of the taxi van

Not long later we are in the club ordering some shots as Despacito blasts in the background

"So what are you going to do for the night without Luke?" I ask Rachel as I take a sip of my drink and catch eye contact with Maddie who is currently grinding on some random

"I guess I'll just hang with you until you find some random to cling onto and then I'll call Luke" she responds "so what do you think about RWH writing all of its stories about you?"

"Like I'm on trial for murder or something" I laugh it off "I don't get why everyone thinks I'm so interesting"

"That's because you have this mysterious aura and from day one the bad boy took an interest in you which is also odd" Rachel informs me

I roll my eyes and turn back around to order another drink

I check my phone as I'm walking off the dance floor to see its already past one o'clock. As much as I didn't think it would be tonight has actually been fun I've spent most my time on the dance floor with Rachel.

"Can I get another vodka and coke" I say to the guy behind the bar to which he responds that it's coming right up

I spin around and lean my back against the counter looking over at where Maddie's gone

But it's not Maddie I see.

My eyes zoom in on Kayden who is playing tongue tennis with some random girl. What the hell is he doing here? How the hell have I not seen him all night?

"Actually never mind that" I find myself saying to the bartender

"I've got to go. I forgot my hotel locks its doors after 2" I say to Maddie after she walks over to me

"I'll come with you" she says but I tell her to stay and enjoy her night

I say another goodbye and tell her to say goodbye to Maddie for me. Unfortunately when I start walking towards the door I realise the only way out is to walk past Kayden.

I look the other way when I'm walking past him so I couldn't tell you whether or not he saw me.

But my question is answered once I hear the next words

"Wait Phia"

I stop walking but it takes me a minute to actually turn around to him "What Kayden?" I say with a fake smile plastered on my face

"Why are you leaving?"

"Because my hotel locks its doors at 2am" I answer

"You're forgetting I work there and that I know that there's always someone in reception to open the door" He reminds me  "Are you leaving because of me?"

I laugh to myself and crosses my arms "not everything is about you Kayden"

"So why?"

"I don't know" I says moving my hair away from my face my frustratedly "but it sure as hell isn't because of you playing tonsil tennis with some random chick, because not everything revolves around you, you dick"

After I say that I turn around and start to cross the empty road but before I get across a speeding car comes out of no where and all of a sudden I'm lifted into the air after rolling up the car and suddenly everything goes dark
