(Megan POV)
We continued up the steps, nerves rising as the altar slowly came to view. My eyes remained completely ahead of me, not so much as glancing at people with me. I was a little bit ahead of the others since fatigue had slowed them down, but that didn't stop me. It was still a mystery to me why I was acting serious, because even I knew it was out of my character, but I had assumed it had something to do with the nightmare I recently had. I was worried that it wasn't a dream, but a vision. What if that was in fact going to happen to Gladion and I. What if Lusamine was to become a monster. And if so, what would become of our friends? Sun, Rose and Lillie weren't present in the dream... Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, but I can't help but worry.
I was too caught up in my thoughts to realise we had made it to the top of the staircase, but a nudge from Gladion brought me back to reality. I looked around, finding my surroundings looked kinda like some plain old ruins. It seemed to be split down the middle, with each side having a symbol. One representing the sun, and the other representing the moon. Lillie stood in the middle and looked around an awe.
'It's like I can feel the power of the sun... and even the moon!' She said, before looking over her shoulder to her backpack where Cosmog, or Nebby slept. 'Don't worry Nebby! I'm going to help you, and make sure mother listens to me!'
'But we're gonna need to summon the Legendary Pokemon for help.' I stated, crossing my arms. 'You got the flutes, right?'
She nodded, taking the Sun and Moon flute out of her bag. 'Come on, Sun. I feel like I should play the Moon flute, if that's alright with you.'
'That's fine with me, Lillie.' Sun responded as he took the orange coloured flute from the girl. Meanwhile, Rose and Gladion seemed to be investigating the symbols on the floor.
'Since these symbols represent the sun and moon... and if you guys are playing the Sun and Moon flutes...' Rose began, as she looked at Gladion to see if he had the same idea. He probably did, since he nodded to her.
'I'd say you guys need to stand on the symbol which corresponds with the flute you're playing.' He finished.
It did make sense, so Sun and Lillie went along with it. They parted ways, and stood on the symbols with the flutes in hand.
'You guys do know how to play, right?' I asked, raising an eyebrow. I knew now wasn't exactly the time to bring it up, but it was true. The flutes would be completely useless unless they knew how to play them.
'That's a good point...' Gladion frowned. 'Do you guys actually know how to play?'
Sun laughed nervously 'Not exactly... But I'm willing to give it a shot!' He told us, before he and Lillie put their instruments to their lips. I pressed my own lips together, bracing myself for an ear piercing noise. But instead, a beautiful melody reached my ears. The music flowed round the mountain tops, as the two played in sync. Soon after, the water under their feet began to emit a powerful glow which lit up the structure behind them. It opened, which released some sort of beam to the platform in the middle of the Altar. We all watched in confusion as all this unfolded.
Suddenly, Cosmog started reacting out of nowhere. It managed to free itself from Lillie's bag and flew right into the light, making us all gasp. I literally had no idea what was happening right now, but for some reason Cosmog did. It seemed to absorb the light's power, which emitted an even brighter light. We all shielded our eyes, since the light prevented us from seeing, but it only lasted for a second and it soon faded. As we brought down our arms to look, there Cosmog was. Only it wasn't 'Cosmog' anymore, for in its place stood a magnificent Pokemon whose body caught light of the sun. I stood there stunned, for Lillie's Nebby was the Legendary Pokemon all along.
