You hang out in their room and enjoy a day off. It's been a few years into your relationship, you know each other better than anyone else. They notice you are acting a bit differently today - more akward actually. You do all those cute little gestures you do when you're nervous so they come over to you, pat your shoulder and smile at you.
"Hey, what's up?" they ask.
You take a deep breath. You've been preparing for this for weeks, you know you want to do it because they'll probably never get the courage and if they do, you might have both one foot in the grave.
You take a deep breath and clear your throat. "I actually want to talk to you about a very important matter."
Their eyes shine curiously. "Oh, really? And what is it?"
You lead them to the couch and make them sit down. "Close your eyes for a bit," you order them.
They give you an amused smirk but do as you told them to. You quickly make yourself look good in front of their mirror, take another deep breath and then turn to them. "Do you know what the day today is?"
They think, still with their eyes closed. "I think it's Thursday?"
"Wrong answer," you frown. "Try again."
They finally remember. "Today is the day you asked me to date you."
You smile. "And I want to take a step further."
They open their eyes in disbelief. "Wait, what?"
You sit down next to them, take their hand and look into their eyes. "I've been thinking about this for the longest time ever and I decided I have to ask. Even if I'm risking rejection and the end of our relationship." You hold their hand a bit tighter out of nervosity. "Would you please marry me?"
