A few gender-neutral reactions to different life situations of our cute and dorky bulletproof boys. Keep your minds clean, ARMYs.
This is a real mess at this point, it's not even reactions or scenarios anymore???
A few years ago, I wrote a chapter called "How I see them", which I do not completely disregard, but I am less blinded by my immense love for them. I am going to be absolutely honest, so don't come for me or hate me or anyone in the comments. Rather, let's discuss. Correct me if I am misinformed, give your own opinions, even your own unpopular ones. Let me know what you think, I'm looking forward to your opinions.
BTS play characters. I think this goes for all artists in a way and I'm not saying that everything BTS do is fake, however, I do believe that so much of what they show in front of the camera is not the real them. Especially Seokjin and Hoseok, the over-confident "mother of the group" and overly positive sunshine. No way are they like this in their day-to-day life. I'm pretty sure they developed these personas in their early days and continue hiding behind it to fit the characters people know them as. Some of them, Hoseok I can recall, talked about how they force themselves to act a certain way in front of the camera and how hard it can be.
I am not a fan of the collaborations with western artists. They don't really seem like they're doing it because they genuinely want to. Western artists like Sia and Halsey got barely any lines, it would not change a thing if they were not there. It's a way of exposure for the western artists, but BTS don't get anything out of it. I listen to these collaboration songs much less than their own songs. Also, 'Boy With Luv' is a very mediocre song. It's still predominantly a BTS song, not a collaboration. I'd prefer it without Halsey anyway.
They're way too careful with their actions.I see fans all over the internet preaching about how woke the boys are, e.g. with support for the LGBTQ+ community. They're really not. The evidence the fans use is a film recommendation or a song on their playlist or a vague reference to an interview done six years ago, but they never really openly showed their support. They have so much power thanks to their fame and it's nearly impossible to shoot them down from their position as of now, so if they truly do care about these issues, they should be more open about it. If they do not care though, people should stop putting words in their mouths.
Edit 20/06/04: So they've updated their Twitter supporting the cause of the BLM movement, which I believe is appreciated. I felt like mentioning it here because they deserve the credit for that of course. Showing support is amazing, however, in my opinion, a tweet is not enough, especially from their position of influential celebrities, so I hope they at least donated something. Hypothetically though, with the amount of power they hold, if they tweeted to their fans to go donate, the donations would be overflowing. The fans are capable of spending huge amounts of money on their birthday and promotion, so if they simply just tweeted "Eyo, go donate", their fans would. Just saying.

BigHit should invest in English tutors. Yes, they are a Korean boy group, but they became as successful as they are thanks to the international fans. They do interviews in the US and do 'world tours', but their English level is still quite low. I think they should be able to speak fluently at least on the basic levels if they want to keep their international stars status. Whenever they are in the US, Namjoon is responsible for talking and translating and I believe each of them should be able to speak and understand for themselves. Namjoon is not as good in English as everyone makes him to be. I think his skills are enough for him to survive overseas, however, it still has certain areas where he can improve. Still, learning a language on your own is still very impressive.
