The guys settled themselves around a campfire close to the ocean. Taehyung held back the waves that threatened to extinguish the crackling fire and sat as close as he could without getting stuck in the sand. Jungkook sat closest to him, not caring the freezing water was slowly turning his skin to ice. He didn't want Taehyung to be left out since he sat the farthest away from the fire. The alpha couldn't help but notice the light dancing on the merman's face and it getting displayed in his brown almond eyes.
Taehyung had been too busy on talking to his heart's content that he hadn't noticed the stare the younger was giving him. When he did finally feel himself being looked upon, he also immediately realized where it was coming from. It was no secret to him that the alpha had a little crush on him. The young boy was stubborn and cold to everyone, but went all mushy whenever Taehyung was involved with it.
The merman found it quite adorable the younger seemed so whipped for him and he couldn't help but smile as he caught Jungkook's gaze. They held it for a few seconds until finally Jungkook averted his gaze, a small blush on his cheeks being hidden by the darkness from everyone but Taehyung.
Yoongi elbowed the small boy who sat next to him. He wasn't participating in the conversation and rather staring at the sky, his eyes narrowed as if he was concentrating.
"What's wrong?", the mind haired boy asked Jimin.
"Don't you hear the crickets?", Jimin whispered out.
Indeed, the crickets were the only thing, besides the boys assembled around the fire and the crashing waves, that was heard in this peaceful night.
The rest stopped talking and casted their attention to the two boys.
"What's going on?", Jin asked, though he was still invisible. The occasional flicker of the fire would make him show for a split second before he disappears again.
Jimin closed his eyes and listened carefully, "They are screaming. Something is coming. The ground is shaking. It's nearing".
The mood suddenly turned grim.
"It can't be an earthquake right?", Taehyung asked confused.
"No, we would've felt that already", Yoongi stated, "Something is nearing sounds like a threat".
Jungkook realized Namjoon hadn't spoken a word yet and looked at the man's dark expression. The alpha narrowed his eyes and a growl emitted from his throat which got everyone's attention.
"You know something, but you're not telling us", Jungkook spoke and he seemed to be right as Namjoon sighed in defeat.
"I'm not the only scientist that travels this earth", Namjoon spoke, "My rival seems to have followed me here, though his method of transportation is the opposite of mine".
The boys frowned, ready to fire their questions, but a sudden rumble attracted their attention to the beach. A huge hole had been made in the soft sand and a boy climbed out of it. He dusted off his clothes and took off his helmed and mechanical claws.
"I was wondering where you went Namjoon", the gingerhead grinned, eyeing the boy's company.
