"Good morning," nodded a police officer as I passed by. I was released earlier than intended because I was a minor, but I still couldn't get the image of Julia's bloodshed on my hands out of my head.
"Good morning..." I mumbled.
Tristan was walking beside me, looking straight ahead. I looked away and sighed, hanging my head on my shoulders, stiff. I peered at my hands and shivered. "Bright, red blood painted on her cheek in a smiley face". That was a description of Julia when they found her. Is that who I am? A cold-blooded, killing machine that finds amusement in murder? My eyes flashed purple for a second, but the glow disappeared as soon as I blinked.
Tristan grabbed my hand in his and continued strolling out the stone building. "What d'ya wanna do?" He asked, stopping in the snow. I stopped beside him and looked up. His eyes sparkled as his hand came to hold my face, his thumb stroking my cheek.
"First, I'd like to eat real food," I replied, smiling slightly at his touch. "Then, we'll think of a way to destroy the Atlas Bomb."

After eating, Tristan took me up the top of the school so that we could see the town. People looked tiny compared to their usual size. I peered over the edge and saw students chatting, hanging around in the snow. I huffed, and a cloud of mist flew up into the sky. I sat down on the edge, and Tristan walked up next to me, glancing at the ground below us.
"Now what?" I whispered. "It's two people against an entire army..!"
Tristan shrugged. "We could try to destroy the Atlas Bomb first."
"With what?" I asked, looking at him. "It's not like we could just build a bomb and walk into the Atlas Bomb home base, set it up, and let it explode the other bomb into pieces."
Tristan looked back at me, smirking deviously. "Building a bomb?- that, I could do. Walk into the home base?- more of sneaking in."
"You can build a bomb?" I asked incredulously, almost in awe.
He nodded, shrugging, "It's just a few pieces of this and that. Then there's the wires and such."
I leaned back, forgetting that I was sitting on the edge of a building. I almost fell over, but quickly regained my balance. Snow started to fall slowly, resting in my black hair. I need to think. "We'll figure out the rest." I brushed off my jeans and stood up straight. "Let's get working on that bomb for now, shall we?"

Cheryl was excited when she saw my house, especially my garage. For her, it was a workhouse. For me, it was my laboratory. Inside, the walls were lined with cork boards instead of plaster. Tools hung from them, and supplies of wood and metal were stashed in a corner, a few scraps leaning against the wall. A table sat in the middle, and it was usually where I built random things. An example would be Cheryl's necklace.
The necklace!
My eyes widened, and I almost smacked my face against the wall. I never gave it back to her. Cheryl sat down on a chair that I made with my mom when I was 14 years old. Her eyes sparkled like stars, amazed at the creations.
I'll give it to her later. If I remember.
I grabbed a roll of wire and some big rounded scraps of metal. I put them on the table, and Cheryl watched intently. "Do I just watch?" She asked. The little tone of disappoint hit me, and I understood that she wanted to do contribute too.
I glanced at her for a second. "If you want to help, sure." I grinned and continued, "You any good with fire?"
After a few tries to light her hands on fire and a few sciences, I had a working bomb sitting on my table. Cheryl helped me melt the metal to shape it. It was adorable because she was so insistent on helping, and a cute little smile was on her face.

"You know how to use this thing, right?"
I looked at Tristan, and he nodded, leaning against the table. "Of course I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't have made it."
"Great!" I exclaimed. I looked at the clock on the wall, which read 8:46. "All we need is a plan now. I think it'd be better to come up with one tomorrow. It's already kinda late."
He nodded, "Alright. But before you go.." He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out my owl necklace. "..I think you'll want this back."
My eyes widened with surprise. "Oh my god, I almost forgot about it!" I stood up to my feet. "It's because of all these things about the Blood Assassin Princess and me murdering someone and jail and the Atlas Bomb. The necklace just got lost in my thoughts because I was worried about you and how you saw me now because of Julia's murder—"
Tristan walked towards me and put his hand over my mouth, making me shut up. I looked up at him, startled, and he smiled. "You were worried? About me?"
At first, I didn't have a response for him. He seemed happy that I had thought of him. My cheeks were flushed pink as soon as he mentioned that segment of my rant. I put my hands behind my back and looked away. "Yeah," I replied, my voice muffled.
"And you were scared of how I thought of you?"
I put my hands around his arm and pulled it away from my mouth. "Are you going to keep repeating everything I say or are you just going to spit out what you want to say?" The question came out of nowhere but I guess it was because the tension from before was too much to handle.
"I find that very charming of you," Tristan said, smiling with a slight smirk to it. I didn't want to admit it, but I blushed.
"And?"
"I didn't know you cared so much," he continued.
I turned away and walked up to the window. My hands held the counter in front of the window as I peered through the glass. Outside, it was snowing heavily. People were rushing inside because of the cold, and I found myself saying, "So what? Yes, I'm self-conscious of what people think of me. What's the damn point?" I turned my head towards him, only to see him staring at me.
"Well..." Tristan clutched the necklace in his hand and strolled up towards me. I turned around and faced him, my hands gripping the edge of the counter tightly. He put his arms on my shoulders, linking the two ends of the necklace together behind me. "I find you interesting," he said, staring down at me. My lips thinned into a line as he added, "You don't seem to notice the obvious."
"What's obvious?" I questioned.
Tristan held my gaze with his emerald eyes. I didn't look anywhere else as he leaned closer towards my ear. His body pushed up against mine, making me blush furiously. I could almost feel his heart beating, and trust me, it was beating as fast as a cheetah after a gazelle. His breathing was calm compared to mine, which was giving away the fact that I was freaking out.
Quietly, he whispered into my ear, "You make my heart explode."
