Atlas Bomb.

Arizona.

The Atlas Bomb theory continued to play out in my head like a roll of gum being untwined. Tristan, Leo, and I were at the park, lying down in the cold snow. I was listening to music with my eyes closed, letting the cold wind brush past my face. I was thinking of a way that we could possibly even stop the Atlas Bomb, or at least stall the plan to defuse it ourselves. Thinking about it now, it seemed impossible, and that there was nothing for us to do.

Killing me with the Blood Assassin would take my life and my attributes. Do they also plan on taking my weather attribute? But weather attributes are common, and don't consist much power unless your weather attribute is at its finest peak. I let out a harsh breath and slightly opened my eyes, staring up at the feathery clouds in the sky. I don't want to think such simple-minded thoughts, but overthinking is bad as well.

As song lyrics took over my mind for a while, I still thought of the Blood Assassin plan. If they use my weather attribute, it'll just mean more power anyways. Is there any possible way that overpowering the bomb could defuse it, or is that just a silly thought? There's no way of estimating how powerful the music attribute is, considering it's the most rarest attribute, and only I, in the entire world, have it.

The music attribute was guided to believe that it could sneak into other attributes. Music, which is a category of art, can connect with other attributes in the art section. Music also being in the category of sound could also connect to sound waves. And using sound waves, the music attribute could connect to other power waves, such as gravity waves, earth waves, and magnetic pulls.

Though it sounded quite complicated, it was easy to understand.

I took my headphones off and sighed heavily, puffing out some air to send little wisps of water vapor into the open, cloudy sky.

Interrupting the silence, Tristan said, "Hey Leo. How'd you know that the Blood Assassin gang was located in Arizona?"

The brainiac took a second before answering the question. "They've been sending emails to each other back and forth, so I was able to hack further into it and see where their messages were being sent from." He shrugged and added, "It's simple to be honest."

"'Simple' my ass.." Tristan muttered.

I sat up and looked at the two boys. "I had a thought earlier." They sat up as well and stared intently at me, curious. I closed my eyes and said, "Is there any possible evidence that the Atlas Bomb could be bombarded with too much power?"

"There is a possibility," Leo replied, nodding his head while staring at the sky, as if deep in thought. "That's quite a gamble though. Like I said, the Atlas Bomb requires a lot of power, and knowing the music attribute, that power itself could probably fit the margin."

I sighed, "Agh, I knew it was stupid to think anyway." I took in a deep breath and let it out, opening my eyes once again. There's no way around it. At all. "Maybe if I just kill myself, they won't be able to take my music attribute."

Tristan looked at me, his eyes glowing darkly. "You haven't committed suicide in a while." He shook his head and crossed his arms. "Not that I'm encouraging it."

"Thinking like that isn't good for your health," Leo added, looking at me. I stared back. He smiled slightly and said, "Three normals teenagers, including you, are going to save the world. We should be proud of what we're doing."

I glanced at the snow, and for a while, his words stuck with me. He's right. We're going to be saving the world. I shouldn't have the thought of death in my head right now. A quirky smile made its way into my face and looked up at him.

"Right."

The sound of someone clicking on a keyboard woke me up. I expected to see Leo tucked in his sleeping bag on the floor with his eyes glued to the screen of his laptop. As soon as I peered over the edge of the bed, I found his sleeping bag empty, the blanket thrown across the floor, making me raise an eyebrow. He rarely gets out of bed. Is he downstairs? Carefully, trying not to wake Tristan up, I slipped down the steps and hid near the stairs, peering at Leo, who was sitting at the dining table, clicking on his keyboard.

What the hell is he doing?

He was obviously typing something, which seemed to look like an email or some sort. What's he doing? As far as I could see, I couldn't read the words on the screen. I mentally sighed when I soon spotted his mother's name. He's trying to keep in touch with his busy parents. Of course. I walked out of the shadows, walking past Leo casually and grabbing a glass from the cabinet.

"Why're you up so late?" I asked quietly, pouring some water into the glass, even though I was fully aware of what he was typing.

He leaned back and mumbled, "I don't know. I just.. needed someone to talk to, and I didn't want to wake you guys up for something stupid."

I sat down on a chair next to him and drank some water, looking at him. "Do you need a snack or anything?" He shook his head, reluctant to say a word. "Okay then. Don't stay up too late. It's not good for you. If you need a snack to munch on, check the pantry. There should be something to eat there."

"Thanks, Cheryl," I heard him say as I walked off with my glass of water.

I walked back up the stairs tiredly and sat on my bed, drinking some more water. Poor guy. I bet he's lonely at times when his parents aren't home. A lamp turned on, filling the dark room with light, and I turned around to see Tristan sitting up from the floor, rubbing his eyes as one of his hands released the neck of the lamp. I smiled and put the glass back on the table, crawling over my bed and towards Tristan. I sat on the edge of my bed and smiled slightly as he looked up at me.

"Did I wake you up?" I asked softly, and he nodded. "Sorry about that."

Tristan looked around for a moment, noticing the empty sleeping bag, and asked, "Where's Leo?"

"He's downstairs, writing an email to his mom," I replied rather quietly, and immediately Tristan knew it was a touchy subject to talk about. "Well, we should be going back to sleep."

"Right."

He turned off the lamp, letting the darkness drape over the room like a curtain. I leaned over and placed a small kiss on his head. I felt him move slightly, as if surprised by the sudden action.

"Good night, Tristan.." I whispered.

"Good night.."

We both fell asleep, not knowing of the person who was staring at us from the doorway.

Third Person POV

Leo, a well-known companion of the two main characters in this story, stared as the two fell asleep gently. They were unaware of what Leo was scheming in the mastermind of a brain he had, and he set off back downstairs to where the kitchen light was left on. He sat back down on his computer and, peering around to make sure no one was around, deleted the tab he created that covered up his true intentions of waking up so late at night, yet so early at the same time.

Beneath his fake email that was to, supposedly, be sent his mother was an email to the man behind all of Blood Assassin's plan: William Kei.

Yes.

Dear Leo, a beloved friend of Cheryl and Tristan, was nothing more than an accomplice of the psychotic scientist, William Kei. Everything had been set up from the start. Leo, who was in fact still a senior in high school, was encouraging the plan that Cheryl and Tristan thought he was helping to stop.

And now, the traitor was to initiate his part of the plan.
