After a few hours of snowboarding (which I suck at by the way), we went into the small coffee shop at the foot of the mountain on the other side. Tristan recommended it because of the great drinks and food there. It was apparently warm inside, but I didn't seem to feel it until I sat right in front of the heater. Sighing in relief, I let the warmth blast my ice cold face. I hate being numb to the weather sometimes.
"This is refreshing~..." I sighed happily, smiling.
"What the hell, woman?!" Tristan exclaimed, pulling me away from the heater. "You're going to get sick like that!"
I rolled my eyes and pouted, crossing my arms at him. "No I won't.."
"You need to take care of yourself more," he replied, helping me towards the counter. We sat down on the chairs, and he looked in my direction, "I'm still surprised at how you survived with such little knowledge of your own health."
"Shut up, idiot."
"You're one to talk."
I was about to punch him in the gut, only for someone behind the counter to walk towards us. It was a brown-haired boy from a competing high school, and with him, he had glowing blue eyes that kinda looked creepy. His name tag says "Alex". He remained emotionless, staring at us blankly before asking, "Can I take your order?"
I kicked Tristan's leg as a warning before ignoring his glare, turning to Alex. "I'll get a vanilla bean latte."
"Just a black coffee," Tristan replied calmly. Once Alex disappeared, Tristan immediately turned to look at me with an annoyed expression. "I would so kick your ass right now, but I respect people."
"Yeah, and I don't," I replied, giving him a teasing smile.
He was about to say something, being interrupted as I looked away from him when something from afar captured my eye. He followed my interested gaze. The boy that took our order, Alex, was being scolded by a girl with straight brown hair and an expensive looking outfit. Rich people, huh? She was yelling at him about something and causing a commotion, capturing the gazes of others around her.
"Who is she?!" The girl screamed, crossing her arms with one of her perfectly manicured hands holding onto her alligator-skin bag. "I saw you talking to a girl, Alex!"
One of the baristas, another girl with strawberry blonde hair and pretty green eyes, stepped in front of Alex, leaving space between the two. The name tag read 'Olivia', and she looked quite shy, though I couldn't tell if she was or not.
"P-Please calm down, ma'am. We can take this argument outside," she said to the brunette. "We don't want to disturb our other customers."
Tristan and I gave each other a look.
The brunette looked even more furious and ignored Olivia's suggestion. She turned to look at Alex, her face filled with disgust. "Is she the one you're cheating on me with?!"
"I'm not cheating on you!" Alex yelled back, getting defensive.
Olivia jumped at the tone of his voice. She must've known Alex for a while to be startled by such a change in his voice. I watched silently as she tried to push the couple away from each other. She turned to look at the brunette, her lips thinning into a straight line. She's at her limit.
"We may have to kick you out if you refuse calm down," Olivia informed firmly, her words sugarcoated. "Please take a step outside before we get the security involved."
