~ Two Years ~
Marriage? Done. (Cheryl kept her last name, and Tristan didn't mind that, because he respected his newly wedded wife for her honesty and strong-headed will.)
Meeting her husband's whole family? Exhausting and exhilarating at the same time.
Having a honeymoon by traveling the world? Being the two most powerful people in the world (with Cheryl having four attributes, one being the music & Tristan having five attributes), traveling the world was fun.
Children? Well...
Holy crap.
I'm pregnant.
Oh my gosh.
"Is this a dream?" I whispered, my voice barely making a sound.
Miss Tanner smiled and shook her head, wiping away her tears. "It's not, Cheryl. You're actually pregnant."
"I think I'm going to cry," I whispered again, putting my hands on my face. My voice cracked at the end. I turned to look at Miss Tanner with a happy smile dancing on my face. "Is this how it feels? When you discover you're baring a child?"
She held my hand tightly. "Yes. But I expected my child, so for you, I think you're more excited and surprised by this."
It was supposed to be a women's day for both Miss Tanner and me. We decided on brunch, and before we paid, she noticed something with her enhancement attribute. She noticed that I had something growing inside of me. My stomach, actually. It was a child. When she told me about it, I think I almost screamed. I mean, I did want a child with Tristan, but I didn't expect it to be soon. Miss Tanner decided to be extra careful with me as we headed home. But the only thing bothering me was a question that nagged in my brain.
How am I going to tell Tristan?
"Miss Tanner, my stomach isn't even that big yet," I giggled, "so you don't have to be careful."
"A child is a child, Little Miss!"
~~~
"Knock knock!" Someone yelled.
I perked up at the voice, and Miss Tanner headed towards the door. I sat down on the couch, my mind running through words to say. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. Oh gosh, I hope I don't stumble over my words! Tristan worked at a garage now, and part time helped fellow celebrities with engineering or fixing things. It was surprisingly earning a decent amount of money. I sighed and closed my eyes, breathing in deeply. I still need a job too... I suddenly felt arms wrapping around me tightly.
"Mom said you had something to tell me," Tristan said immediately. He pulled back, his eyes filled with worry. "Are you alright? Did something happen?"
I smiled and replied quietly, "I'm alright. But judging by the way you're squishing me, I don't think our child is going to be alright."
Tristan froze. Oh crap. "What?"
I closed my eyes a little, a small smile on my face. My hands raised up into jazz hands, and I said quietly, "O-Oh, um— surprise! I'm pregnant!"
His eyes widened. I felt like he was going to flip out or something. His green eye twitched a little, and I squealed when he fell on top of me, rolling over so that I was on him. "Oh my god, this better not be a prank!" My eyes opened again, and he placed kisses everywhere on my face, making me laugh.
"You're excited, aren't you?"
"Of course I am!" He exclaimed. He held me tightly in his arm, kissing my forehead every so often. "Is it a girl or a boy? What're we gonna name him or her? Do you have any idea how we're going to make a room for it? Maybe we can build a new house all over!"
"Tristan, you're rambling," I said softly, blushing a little. "It's cute, but awfully worrying."
"I'm so happy dammit.."
I felt his warm tears trailing down my shoulder. My hand reached into his hair, messing around with it as I placed a comforting kiss on his head.
~~~ One Year Later ~~~
Three months ago, a week before Tristan's birthday (September 19), his wife had given birth to a beautiful baby girl. Just like her mother, she had a purple eye, but on her right. And just like her father, she had a green eye, which was on her left. Her hair was the same brown as her father's, and her skin was just as pale as her mother's.
What was interesting were her attributes. Inherited from her parents, she gained four attributes: Music, Time, Summoning, and Deceiver. This, Doctor Hansen said, made her the most powerful person born into this world because of the number of attributes and because of the attributes that were given to her.
And with that, her mother named her Meredith.
Meredith means protector, and with that name, her parents would raise her to protect the world. Unfortunately, they didn't realize that Meredith would be the one who needs protecting.
