Walking out of the auditorium, I heard the footsteps of Caleb following me. I wanted to check out the battlefield, or the arena, at the school that was mentioned during the assembly. It sounds like a lotta fun. Walking down the hall, Caleb's footsteps matched mine. I ignored him and walked through the beautiful dark blue doors with the arena in sight.
"Stop following me," I sighed, whipping around to face the raven. Caleb smiled cheekily as I glared at him. I crossed my arms. "Don't you have anything else better to do?"
Caleb shook his head. "I'd rather tag along with you. You're truly amazing when it comes to skill and combat."
I clutched the owl charm in my hand tightly and rolled my eyes. Walking onto the field, I threw my hand back and said, "Whatever then. Waste your time on me if you want."
I sensed something heading straight for me and outstretched my arm to my left. A purple force field appeared at my hand just as a lightning bolt came within reach. My legs fell to the ground from the sudden force, making me stand on my knees. I turned my head a little, my eyes glancing at a blonde male at the end of the field.
"What d'you want, punk?" I spat, glaring at him.
He smirked. "I'm picking a fight, you weak bitch!"
My eye twitched at the insult, holding my breath. I'm not allowed to kill him. You are not allowed to kill him. A dark look crossed my eyes. I put my hand on the grass, pushing myself up slowly. An empty laugh escaped my throat. Some people never learn. My arms flashed purple, and music notes glowed on them. I looked up at the blonde, who suddenly froze. My right eye closed, leaving my purple eye shining brightly. My right hand flashed red, and a small dagger that looked similar to the Blood Assassin appeared within my grip. Instead of red patterns, the patterns were purple, bits of green swirling in them.
"You wanna try saying that again?" I asked. The demonic tone of my voice made my words loud and clear to the blonde.
I didn't give him a chance to reply. I suddenly appeared behind him, making his eyes widen. Swiping my arm across his back, his shirt had ripped, and his blood flew onto my face. I didn't even flinch. He fell to the floor suddenly, and I crouched down, picking up his head in my hands.
"I'll ask you one more time," I warned, a sarcastic sweetness to my voice. "Do you wanna try saying that again?" Frantically, he shook his head. "Good."
I stood back up, reverting back to my old self. The dagger had disappeared, and Caleb quickly jogged up to me as I headed out. "Cheryl—"
"That was a mistake," I spat, harshly interrupting him. "Coming here was a mistake."
Caleb's eyes trailed down the stream of blood that was on my face. He grabbed my arm, and I looked back at him. "You should clean off the blood. I can do it for you if you want."
My eyes widened.
Tristan.
The guy at the grocery store.
He saved me from him..?
"Cheryl?"
Caleb's voice shook me out of my swirling thoughts. He reminds me of... him. Tristan. His hand was still on my arm. I shook my head, unknowingly pulling my arm away from Caleb.
"I-I'm sorry. I just..." My lips tightened, and a sigh escaped, "...I just remembered something. From quite some time ago."
Caleb grabbed my arm again and pulled me towards our building. Rambling in the utmost protective way possible, I couldn't help but notice. Caleb reminds me of Tristan. A lot. I looked down as he dragged me up the stairs, my cheeks blazing pink. But it's not like he is Tristan. If I fall for him, I'd be cheating them both. My eyes widened, and my cheeks reddened even more. It's not like I'm going to actually fall for him! He had passed by the room to my dorm and opened the next door with a key in hand. And he lives next to me. Oh great.
I was forced to sit on the toilet seat. Caleb had left the bathroom and came back with a new towel. Washing it in the sink, he held my chin with his hand and carefully wiped away the blood, which was now dry. The silence was blooming just as well as my thoughts. His face was too close to mine. Too close. Though the bathroom had remained dark, his lip piercing had shined through the little light streaming through the doorway. My eyes watched him carefully, analyzing his unnoticed features.
He has... a small scar.
On his jawline.
Caleb pulled back, put the towel in the sink, and washed it again. His hazel eyes glanced at me as I waited. I could feel his heavy gaze on my owl charm. He better not have any plans of stealing this or else I'll smack him so hard, he flies into another DIMENSION. I sighed in a relief a little when he turned away to put the towel on the rack. I stood up and leaned against the wall, waiting for him. When Caleb turned back, he suddenly leaned towards me until we were face-to-face. My eyes widened when his hands held my face lightly, and he leaned in a little further.
Then and there, Caleb kissed me.
I felt a little paralyzed at the moment. What am I supposed to do? SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. Confused, I leaned forward a little bit and kissed him back. I have no idea what I'm doing. His piercing dug into my lip to the point where it was distracting. He.. seems familiar. My hands were set down on his shoulders, and I felt myself stand on my toes to get closer to him. OH JESUS, CHERYL WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?! Somewhere in the back of my mind, I told myself: I don't want to make the same mistake again.
Caleb pulled back, and that was when things got awkward. My hands released him immediately, and I looked down at my feet, blushing out of my mind. Oh no oh no oh no oh no! My heart was beating like crazy, and I couldn't count the beats.
"I'm so sorry!"
My eyes snapped up at Caleb, and he put his hands on his face. The blush was noticeable. "Uh—"
"Oh my god, I kissed her without her consent!" Caleb exclaimed, literally forgetting I was right there. "OH MY GOD, I KISSED A CELEBRITY WITHOUT HER CONSENT. I'M GOING TO JAIL— OH MY GOD, NOOOO. MY PERFECT RECORD."
I coughed a little. How utterly adorable of him. Trying not to laugh, I awkwardly looked at him. "I- uh- I technically kissed you back."
Caleb paused and looked at me. Then, he fell to the floor, his hands back on his face. The blush thickened. "OH MY GOD, I MADE OUT WITH A CELEBRITY."
