Flash forward two weeks, and I was standing in front of the window, looking out at the courtyard where my dorm sat beside. I opened the window and leaned over, letting myself embrace the fresh air. I closed my eyes and drowned in my thoughts. The cold wind slapped me across the face, and I sighed. I wish I could turn back time. My eyes opened. Like Tristan did for me. Then, I would change a lot. I felt the swarming in my stomach and looked up at the sky.

Maybe he's watching me right now.

Maybe he's up there, his eyes on me.

I closed my eyes again and leaned against the window.

Maybe.

"Cheryl!"

My eyes snapped open, and I looked over to my left. Caleb was practically hanging off of his window sill, frantically waving his arms.

"Do you have the notes from class?!" He yelled.

I rolled my eyes. "Of course I do, you idiot. And don't yell. We're like five feet away from each other."

Caleb grinned cheekily. "Sorry!"

"I'll get the notes right now," I said, hopping off of the window seat. I walked over to my desk and took hold of my notebook, which was out while I was studying. Walking back over to the window sill, I handed it carefully to Caleb, who took it back.

"Thank you!" He cheered.

"I said not to yell!"

~~~
The sun had set, and the sky was now dark. I was laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling blankly. My hand was holding the charm of my necklace with my thumb consciously rubbing the diamonds on it. I wasn't fully asleep, but I was feeling drowsy. My movements (if I moved at all) were slow.
"It's cold and dark..." I whispered to myself. I blinked, but it felt like I was trapped in time. "Again..."
My voice was raspy. I didn't know why, but my arm extended in front of me, my hand trying to grab something.
"Come back, please!"
My eyes flickered a little, unfocused. I didn't feel myself standing up, but I found myself on my feet. My body is moving on its own. My hand rested on the knob of the door and twisted it open. The hallway of the dorms was dark, but my bare feet walked onto the tiled floor. It was cold and wet, indicating that the night janitor had just cleaned the floor. My eyes unknowingly glowed purple, being the only source of light in the dark hallway. I heard someone's footsteps and looked to my right.
Caleb stood there, his face blank.
His hazel eyes met mine, and my mind blurred. Immediately, Caleb's figure disappeared. My eyes widened when my brain had rewinded time, memories taking over my mind. This isn't... It felt as if the whole world had disappeared. I was floating in a black void. I seemed to be standing in my old house. A black-haired girl was curled up on the couch. A shadow was hanging over her with a knife. My eyes widened when I saw the face of the shadow clearly.
That can't be... He's dead. He died a long time ago. It can't be him.
The face of my own father hung on the shadow. A malicious smile was on his face. The shadow turned around to look over its shoulder, and I flinched at its movement in the still life scenario. The malicious smile with his wide eyes; it was a nightmare. An utter nightmare. I tried to take a step back, but my feet wouldn't move. I was paralyzed. Hands touched my shoulders, and I turned around. The face of my sister on a shadow. She had the same expression as my dad: a malicious smile with her eyes widened like a psychopath. Something wrapped around my legs, and I saw my mother with a coiled black tail of a shadow. Their expressions were the same.
They were all the same.
Psychopaths.
Murderers.
My sister— or whatever it was— grabbed my hair and pulled on it roughly, making me scream. "You are the last Blood Assassin, Cherry Blossom."
That was her nickname for me when we were younger.
"Psychopaths?" Mother questioned, her head cocking to the side. Her face twisted, and I almost screamed, but my sister had slapped her hand over my mouth, smiling with a look of bloodlust in her eyes. "This is what the Blood Assassin line is."
"We're all monsters..!" My sister exclaimed with an insane ecstasy on her face.
I shook my head, refusing to believe what she said. Her arm coiled around my neck, and I felt tears running down my face as she suffocated me. My father was still hanging over the black-haired girl on the couch at the end of the void. Stop it... please. Stop it! Something green flashed before my eyes, and the shrieking of my family alerted me. Their grasps disappeared from my body, and I trembled in my spot. My eyes widened when the only color visible to me was green. A sparkling green. My eyes watered up, and a tear streamed down my face when I recognized who it was.
Tristan.
Almost as if he heard his name, the green figure turned around. At that moment, the void had shattered before we could meet gazes. My arm was outstretched, trying to pull back the person I saw. Tristan. For the first time in a while, I felt my world shattering before me. I was back in the university, in the hallway, with Caleb standing right where Tristan's shadow was. I didn't notice, but I had somehow collapsed to the floor, standing on my knees. Caleb still stood there blankly, and I was confused as to what he was doing. Again, my vision had blurred.
Caleb's figure flickered, almost like he was an image on a computer screen. For a split second, when his figure had flickered, I saw Tristan. I was looking at Tristan. That second had felt like an eternity, and Tristan's sparkling green eyes stared at my torn gaze. I felt the tears rolling down my face, and I clenched my jaw to keep me from sobbing and breaking down. Tristan had a small smile on his face, and he said something, but no sound came out of his mouth. My eyes widened when I read his lips to see what he wanted to say.
"Give me more time, Cheryl. I promise I'll make everything okay."
Tristan smiled again, almost as if to be my line of hope, but his green eyes were replaced with the color of hazel. Caleb was there again. No... wait! Come back! With the number of tears I cried, I had fallen over to my side, collapsing from exhaustion. That was when reality snapped back, when time resumed again, and Caleb's face filled with utter horror at the sight in front of him.
"Cheryl!"
