~ Two Years Later / Age: 24 ~
Things have changed a lot in the past two years. Tristan and I remained standing in time as the world moved by. People changed, and the weather changed too. Tristan eventually graduated, so now he lived with Miss Tanner and me, which was great because Miss Tanner was so alone sometimes. Of course, with so many changes, you wouldn't expect to find one so shocking and so sudden.
For example, you wouldn't expect to wake up in the morning and find that your boyfriend is sleeping beside you even though you told him you were feeling sick the day before.
And, you wouldn't expect to find yourself with a beautiful, silver ring on your left hand.
May I add, on your ring finger.
Meaning your previously mentioned boyfriend is now your husband-to-be.
I almost screamed when I saw the ring on my hand. First of all, I think I drank a little too heavy (because I got fired for not listening to a customer that was totally 100% wrong). Second of all, Tristan sleeping peacefully beside me wasn't making me feel better about this. Third of all, there was a matching ring on his left hand as well.
"Tristan!" I exclaimed. I kneeled on the bed, shaking his peacefully sleeping figure. "Wake up!"
"Whaaaaat..."
Tristan flipped over, facing the pillow. My cheeks puffed out, annoyed. You want a pillow? I grabbed my baby blue pillow and held it up over myself. Here's the fucking pillow! I whacked the back of his head with the pillow, and he got up immediately.
"I'm up, I'm up!" He exclaimed.
I put the pillow down and put my hand in front of his face. His eyes caught a glimpse of the ring. "W-Why is there a ring on my finger?"
"You forgot?" He questioned.
My cheeks puffed out again. "Of course I forgot! Why else would I be asking you?!"
"I kinda.. might've proposed to you, last night..?" He said quietly, though it ended in a questioning tone.
I crossed my arms. "Knowing that I was drunk off the hook?"
"Okay! I'm sorry!" Tristan exclaimed in protest. He scooted away from me, looking anywhere else but my eyes. "I was scared that you would say no, okay?! Besides, I heard that if someone is a little tipsy, they're more likely to do something but they wouldn't with 100% honesty behind it."
I smacked his arm lightly. "Tristan! Why would I say no?!" He looked up at me with his cheeks pink, pouting. My jaw clenched tightly. Oh god, he such an idiot but he's so cute too! I sighed and shook my head, shaking my thoughts out. "What I mean is, I already love you. Since senior year in high school for that matter." I grabbed his hand, and his eyes met mine. I felt myself smile up at him. "Tristan. That's seven years. I'm pretty sure any girl in their right mind would say yes."
"I'm sorry..." he apologized quietly again.
I grabbed his face and kissed his forehead quickly. "Don't apologize. I guess I overreacted."
Suddenly, I felt bile in my throat and immediately ran into the bathroom, hurling into the toilet. Tristan came in and laughed a little, grabbing a hair tie and tying my hair up like the talented man he was. "Please don't ever drink again," he suggested, laughing nervously, "You're kind of scary when you're drunk."
I flushed the toilet and washed my mouth out with water from the sink. "Since when am I not scary?"
"When you're not around people you hate and/or children."
"You suck."
"Lollipops."
We headed downstairs to get breakfast going. I can't believe that happened. I couldn't help myself from resisting to stare at the ring in awe. I wish I could remember what happened! This is so unfair. I want to remember this when I'm old too!
"When did you buy it? And where?"
Tristan laughed at my questions. I was at the dining table, and Tristan was in the kitchen, making some breakfast. I asked for an egg and some bacon. Him being my boyfriend— or, husband-to-be— knew that sunny side up wasn't my favorite.
"I actually made it, a few days ago," he replied. "When I said I was going to go out grocery shopping since my mom was sick."
"Oooh~." I couldn't help but examine the ring in my hand. Every time I shifted my hand a little, the light would hit it, and it would shine a gentle sheen. "It's so pretty. How'd you make it?"
"Mechanical engineer, Cheryl," he replied with a smile. He walked over with a plate in his hand and placed it in front of me, sitting beside me. "I went to the hardware store after so that I could make it."
"Oh, smart," I said, poking his cheek.
"I know," he responded egotistically, a hand over his heart. "I'm such a genius." I puffed out my cheeks and squished his face in my hands, pinching gently. "Ooww!!"
He put his hands my cheeks and copied my actions. "Stupid!" I exclaimed.
"I thought I was smart!"
"Not anymore!"

"Congratulations, you two!" Miss Tanner said, clapping. Her eyes were bright, and her face lit up with a smile.
The three of us decided to go shopping at the mall, which was quite exciting. I haven't been to a mall and traveled throughout before. I've only ever stopped at my favorite store and bought clothes there, so this was a new experience. When we got there, I was surprised to find it renovated and updated. It might have been because Miss Tanner usually handed me some of her old clothes so that we didn't waste money on new clothes.
Unfortunately for him, Tristan was dragged throughout a bunch of clothing stores mainly aimed towards women, but he didn't seem to mind too much. When we reached an adolescent-based store, I grabbed a hoodie off the rack. Warm and full of fuzzy wool on the inside, I noticed something. It looks like something Tristan would wear. I snickered to myself when I saw the word "taken" on the back of the hoodie. Damn right he is. Someone appeared behind me and put their hands on my shoulders, making me scream a little. I whipped around and saw Tristan smiling down at me.
"You want it?" He asked, pointing at the hoodie.
I blushed and shook my head. "N-No. I was just— um, looking at it. In fact, it seems more of.. your style."
"Do you want me to buy it?"
"E-Eh, what?"
Tristan smiled and kissed the top of my head, grabbing the clothing hook from me. "I want people to know that I'm yours, and you're mine. Because that's true, right?" He looked up at the hoodie and grabbed another one from the rack, it being a smaller size. Then he looked at me, as if expecting an answer.
"Y-Yeah," I stuttered, blushing as my gaze landed on the floor.
I felt Tristan's hand ruffle my hair, making me puff out my cheeks in annoyance. I seemed to be doing that a lot. Tristan grinned idiotically, and said, "So let's keep it that way."
