"Quit following us, loser!" Tristan yelled behind us as he tried to fly faster.
He probably used his time attribute too much as well. Unlike me, Tristan second attribute of flight is used more often, so he wouldn't turn into a maniac using it. He glanced down at me and flew to the ground, tripping over his feet for a moment. Laying me down on a bench by a bus stop, he pulled off his jacket as the snow began falling heavier. It was tugged around my shoulders, with his fingers quickly buttoning up a few buttons. It's warm. Though I was barely conscious, my hand outstretched and grabbed his. He looked back down at me again, and with heavy eyes, I stared back.
"Where are you going, Tristan..?"
"Cheryl, I need you to wait here," he said, turning back to me quickly. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the creep busy using his telekinesis to levitate himself. "Be careful and scream if you need help, alright?"
He pulled the jacket around me, letting the warmth surround my freezing body. He hugged me lightly, kissing the top of my head. I was too worn out and tired to react to it. He let go of me and looked into my eyes.
"Promise to stay here?" I nodded slowly. "Promise you won't interfere with this fight." I nodded once again. He smiled his crooked smile. It was the last thing I saw, and it made my heart swell up. "Good night, Cheryl. Sleep tight."
~~~
Panting.
I could hear panting.
Tristan?
My eyes opened slowly, and I shivered when the sudden cold wind brushing past me. I tiredly peered up and saw Tristan looking ahead of us, his eyes hard and serious. He was walking down the empty road, holding onto me tightly. I saw how pale he was, and his arms were icy against my body. He's lost energy.
"Are you cold?" He asked in a soft voice, glancing down at me.
I barely noticed that his jacket was still around my shoulders and shook my head to reply to him. I closed my eyes once again and blew out a small breath. Unbeknownst of the time, I was tired and drained.
"Hey, Tristan?"
"Yeah?"
I hesitated, and then said, "Nothing. N-Never mind."
Tristan continued walking. It took him a few minutes to notice that the way he was holding my body was just a tad bit uncomfortable for me. He stopped for a moment and pulled me up so that my head was on his left shoulder, with my arms and legs around his torso like a teddy bear. I snuggled my face into his shirt, my cheeks pink and frozen from the cold. Using my body heat, I prayed it would keep Tristan from freezing over. He doesn't have the weather attribute like me. He's probably insanely cold. Tristan's arm was wrapped around me, and I felt his hand playing with my hair.
Was it weird to see two teenagers walking down the snowy streets of Alaska near midnight?
I hope not.
~~~
Soon, Tristan reached my house. I gave him directions to the hidden key underneath a rose bush. He closed the door behind him after entering the house and put the key on the table, walking upstairs. Walking into the bathroom, he carried me inside. He set me down on the counter of the sink, ignoring the bloodshed near the mirror, though I knew he was ticked off just by noticing it. He looked through my cabinets and immediately found the first aid kit.
Even with all of his own injuries, he helped me wash my face (which was slightly awkward, but I was hurt too much to really care about) and began tending to the wounds, such as the cuts and bruises. I averted my eyes somewhere else, trying not to think about anything at all. I wanted my mind to be blank. Completely blank.
