Tristan Tanner
"Captain Leo, sir," a voice said. I peered over and saw a male scientist. Thick rimmed glasses blocked his light grey eyes, which were almost white. "Miss Cheryl has made movement."
My eyes widened at this. Cheryl's moving? Where is she right now then? I thought she would stake out at the boiler room. My hands balled into fists. I should trust her. Maybe she had a reason for going. Something must've happened that forced her to move on. I felt my thoughts swimming in my head and suddenly remembered that the scientist still had something to say. I secretly paid attention as Leo looked at the huge computer screen in the middle of the room.
"Any approximate location?"
The scientist nodded, "Yes sir. She is currently 3 floors down, on the second floor. She's roaming near the mutation labs, quite possibly looking for you."
Leo nodded and smiled, but it had no emotion. "Good job. You aren't worthless after all, wench." I saw the scientist flinch at this. "Pull forces off the third floor and onto the fourth. The closer she gets to us, the more challengers she will need to fight through." He thought through what he said, then added, "Make sure to clear the third floor. Absolutely no one should remain there."
The scientist nodded.
A guard suddenly came running in, out of breath and flustered. Everyone in the room turned to look at him as he panted heavily. "Sir! There are two runaways on the loose!" Leo raised his eyebrow at him. "Gavin Lowse and Layla Hickens! They've run away!"
Leo's eyes became blank. "Our best front force and the smartest scientist?" He snorted and rolled his eyes. "They have no use now either way. Cheryl is within our possession, so take station on the fourth floor."
I zoned out as they continued to talk. I turned over from where I was laying and sat up against the Megtronian bars. Megatronian. It's a combination of steel and titanium, plus something else no one really knows about. I closed my eyes and huffed. So, what could make steel and titanium so strong together? Something that's out of this world.. something with unlikely variables.. like attributes. I opened my eyes and crossed my legs, crossing my arms as well.
Attributes haven't existed since 300 years ago, so we are still in the early periods. But attributes' atoms have different variables. If there was an attribute that could connect with metal types, I'd say it would be Blacksmith. I stared deeply at the Megatronian bars. Only those with the attribute of Blacksmith would be able to find a way to break these bars. So if I were a Blacksmith..
I sighed and shook my head.
It doesn't add up. Ever since Blacksmith was considered the only one to break and mend Megtronian, it was considered one of the most powerful attributes, second or third to Music. The last Blacksmith in the world was still alive, but she lived in China, all the way around the world. She was 98 years old, so the Blacksmith attribute was slowly dying. Even if she was blackmailed, it wouldn't have been strong enough to make this cage from scratch. The only other Megatronian cages aren't for sale, because they only house prisoners now at high stake prisons and jails.
Wait a minute..
Up until now, I didn't realize that Leo never revealed his other attribute. He's a low tier, so he could only have two attributes. His main is Hacker, but he never told me the other one when I thought we were companions.
Nothing else can make Megatronian though!
I glared at Leo as he continued his conversation with the scientist. I shouldn't have been able to bend that bar, let alone find my fist clear of wounds after. Something was fishy about this. My glare deepened.
