Dazai POV

Y/n-chan, Atsushi and I were sitting quietly in an abandoned warehouse.

I kept finding myself staring at her. Finding my mind wandering to her.

She really had matured since I'd last seen her. Sure, she was pretty then but now...

Now she was stunning.

She was absolutely breathtaking but, seemed to be...

broken.

I mean, after what she has gone through, it's no surprise but... I had hoped....

On the outside she seemed fine, she just had some major trust issues which, again, made sense but last night I had woken to the sound of someone screaming.

I quickly realized it was Y/n-chan and ran to her room.

She was dead asleep and writhing around her bed in pain.

"Help!" she yelled, "please... someone... help me!"

I realized she was crying and was about to wake her up when she started to speak again.

"Come save me, Dazai-san. I can't do it alone again." she whispered, "come save me and Ryu."

I had stayed with her until she calmed down and then went back to bed.

It intrigued me that, though she called me by my first name she still thought of me as Dazai.

I glanced once more at the girl. She was fiddling with something. Standing up, I saw that in one hand she held a dagger and that she was repeatedly slashing over the same spot on her arm.

Every time she would move it away, the cut would heal.

There were tears in her eyes, not because of pain but because of truth. Because, her cuts healing themselves meant she was who she was. She was project x and she was stuck. She couldn't die except from old age.

"Dazai-san," began Atsushi, breaking the silence, "what are you reading?"

I looked down at the book in my hands. I had completely forgotten about it and so just said the first thing that came to mind.

"A good book."

"I'm surprised you can read in the dark." he remarked.

"I have good vision." I responded, "besides I already know everything that happens in this book."

I saw Atsushi's gaze switched to Y/n-chan.

She was sitting 'on guard' at the door, too far away to hear us even with her ability.

"Beautiful, isn't she?" I remarked.

Atsushi instantly turned into a blushing, stuttering mess, refusing to meet my eyes.

"Sadly, she is not so beautiful on the inside." I finished.

"What do you mean?" asked Atsushi, forgetting his embarrassment.

"She has not had an easy life and, I'm afraid she has a number of issues because of it." I said, closing my book, "not that she'd ever admit that."

"Why are you reading your book if you already know what happens in it?" asked Atsushi, switching the conversation topic.
