Wedding diary (Complete)

20.A night

After turning to the other side, I thought of sleeping but I suddenly felt him turn towards me facing my back. I heard him ask "Slept?"

I can sense that he is waiting for my reply. I heard his still heartbeat and his struggling breath that is trying to stabilize in that compact room which is completely decorated with flowers for this special occasion.

I slowly responded "NO".Trying to not turn around because if I do so, I will end up facing his face directly which will be too awkward.

"Hmm" He replied after some time and continued "You know my name?" He asked slowly waiting for my response.

I was surprised by his question. He thought that I didn't know his name? He continued "I never heard you call my name. Even today you made a sound to call me instead of calling me with my name."

"How can I call you with your name in front of all when I am trying to tell you not to eat that sweet as it was not tasty?"I chuckled after saying those words.

"Hmm. That doesn't answer my question though."I heard him leaving his breath more intently before turning to that side of the bed.

I felt safe now and turned to face his back as I am not used to sleeping in one posture throughout the night.

"Vikranth" I can clearly hear him chuckle from that side as I can't see his face. But I felt that his back got straightened a bit as he can feel that now I have turned in his direction.

"Hmm," he sighed "So you do know my name." He laughed and I too laughed along with him.

There was silence for a period of 10 minutes in the room which felt very awkward for some reason and slowly he turned in my direction now facing me.

Both our eyes opened wide for some time and we were looking into each other's eyes for some reason which we both were not aware of.

Then suddenly he woke up and said "We didn't check our wedding gifts. I am not sleepy actually. You want to check our gifts with me?"

I laughed at his childish behavior and got up nodding. I was sleepy before but I don't know for some odd reason from the moment I entered this room all my sleep went away.

I saw him getting off the bed and going to open the cupboard which is like a room's size. There were a lot of gifts inside and slowly we started opening each gift. It took almost 1 and half hours to open all gifts and at last, we were done with them. We laughed at our own stupidity and sat there silently chuckling.
