72.Discussions with Friends

We went to canteen and once we seated there I noticed the awkwardness between them."Come on.This can't be that bad."I said trying to lighten the atmosphere.They both smiled and Siddu started first "Sorry Avi.I didn't mean to discourage you or something.It's just that I thought it will be foolish to encourage you knowing that will not end properly." I looked towards Avinash pointing to him that now it is his turn to apologize. He sighed and said "Sorry too buddy.I shouldn't have revealed your feelings like that and I am truly ashamed of that."

I smiled and said "Good that now this is solved I will go ahead with my next class then."I started to stand when I felt a hand pulling me down and when I saw the owner of the hand that is Avinash."I still have to talk with you. Remember we are not done talking about what we started yesterday night?"He said holding my hand in his grip still. Siddu understood what was happening and so turning to face us he said "You guys carry on.I will join you for lunch."We nodded and he left.I removed my hand from his grip and sat sitting in front of him.

"I wanted to talk about Sanjay and Kavya now.Not about us."He said when he noticed that I am not at all looking in his direction.I stopped rubbing my hands which I was doing till now because of nervousness and said "Okay.I am fine with that.And let me make this clear Avinash. We are friends and there will be nothing more than that.Okay?" He nodded and started speaking while drawing his hand over his hair as if he is also nervous about this discussion."I am friends with Sanjay even before that trip but I have never met Meghna before.But when you left suddenly on that day because of your father's health condition Preethi told us what happened with Vikranth in hospital.I felt that there is some problem between you guys and I felt like I should check on that."

I looked at him and nodded not giving any sort of comments or reactions to whatever he was saying."I know it is not my work or my problem but still as I have already told you that I liked you from the moment I saw you I felt like I should look into that."

"Thanks for that and what did you find?" I asked now trying to change the topic from us to Meghna and Sanjay.

"I found out that your husband was supposed to get married to my friend's sister in about three months which he suddenly cancelled and called her one fine day to give the big news over phone."He said trying to guess my feelings and thinking through my expressions.

"Sanjay told you this?"I asked trying to sound like I am not at all getting affected by his story.

"Yeah.He didn't tell me actually.He snapped at me when I asked why he did like that with his love."He said.

"What did he do with Kavya?"I asked now trying hard to focus on that matter rather than Meghna and Vikranth and of course my life.

"He broke up with her.Without giving prior warning and without giving proper reason.He was broken when he found out what happened to his sister and Meghna is one sort of a girl who can manipulate anyone anywhere."He said trying to threaten me about my biggest danger that I am neglecting like she is nothing.

"He knows that Vikranth and Kavya are related?"I asked trying to relate missing pictures of the story that he told just now.

"Yeah.That is how they met. Kavya has no idea that Vikranth and Meghna are in relationship. Sanjay saw Kavya first time in one party organised by Meghna and Vikranth's hospital.They met and started friendship and slowly one thing turned into other.Even Sanjay has no idea that his sister is in love until you came into our lives.No brother and sister will discuss these things openly right?"He asked trying to convince me about my stupid thoughts.

"Kavya has no idea about Vikranth and Meghna?Neither did Sanjay. They were happy with each other until I got married to Vikranth which made Meghna all alone right?"I asked trying to get the whole story in one single line.He nodded telling me that I was correct.
