Shannon's P.O.V

Last night I had to take Shawn to the hospital because he said he wasn't feeling great.

This morning he woke up in so much pain and I felt like there wasn't much I could do to help him. He had I.V's in his arms to give him fluids and to try and relieve some of the pain but it wasn't working.

Going out into the hallway I found one of the nurses and told her Shawn had woken up. Heading back into Shawn's room I could see the tears falling down his face.

"are you okay baby?" I asked walking to him and resting my hand on his head.

"it hurts so much Shannon, please help me" he wailed.

Watching the door just waiting for the nurses to come in I climbed into bed next to Shawn and just pulled him so his head was resting on my lap.

"your going to be just fine Shawn, don't worry babe we're going to figure this out" I ran my fingers through his hair.

"sure doesn't feel like it" he sighed.

"I know, I know"

Finally the nurse came in and she had a tray, I knew Shawn was going to have to get an injection for the pain. I knew he was going to freak out.

"Hello Shawn, how are we feeling? I heard your pain is a little up there today" the nurse asked starting to get the needle ready.

"that's not for me is it?" Shawn asked.

"yeah sorry hun, it's for you" the nurse gave him a sympathetic smile.

Feeling Shawn get up off my lap he squished closer to the back of the bed.

"I can't get a needle. You can't make me ill just sit here in pain." he started to freak out.

"i'll give you a minute, i'll be back" the nurse said leaving us.

"Shannon, I can't do it. I cannot get a needle, do you know how much it's going to hurt."

I could feel him start shaking up my hold.

"please don't freak out baby it's going to be okay, it'll be one little poke a tiny bit of pain and then you'll be okay"

"are you sure Shannon?"

"yes absolutely, and i'll be here to hold your hand the whole time!"

"okay"

Wiping the tears from under his eyes I grabbed his hand and the nurse came back in.

She got the needle ready and I could feel Shawn tense.

"relax babe" I kissed his head.

He took a deep breath and I could feel him untense a little. The nurse stuck the needle in his arm and he whimpered a little bit other then that was fine.

"okay i'll be back to check on you later Mr. Mendes" the nurse left.

"Thank-you!" I smiled at the nurse.

"Shannon, i'm sleepy"

"okay babes i'll let you sleep, i'll be back to see you later i'm going to get food"

Giving him a kiss I watched his eyes close and he was instantly asleep.
