She woke up to a pounding sensation coming from inside her skull. Groaning, she reached for her forehead and pressed a hand over it. She thought that taking a short nap might help ease the throbbing she'd been feeling for days now but, obviously, it didn't.

He died peacefully on his sleep the night after their last conversation. Somehow, she knew he'd go that day but she was never truly prepared for the devastating pain of losing her beloved father forever.

They settled all their issues and misunderstandings in the past. And although she needed to lie about her feelings about Turs, she made sure that her father wouldn't feel guilty anymore because of her failed relationship with Donny ten years ago.

There's nothing to feel guilty about, really. It was already a hopeless relationship to begin with even without her father's relationship with Aling Mirasol to complicate things. The Alegres will never allow one of their heiresses to date a mere farm help because it's a taint to the family's reputation. Her mother won't allow her to have a relationship with someone who's very similar to her father in so many aspects. One way or another, the relationship was bound to end.

Seeing how her father was loved and missed by so many people brings comfort to her too.

Donny casually walked inside her bedroom with a tray balanced on one hand. His black polo shirt matched the darkness of his expression as he moved closer, all six feet and so of him.

"What's that?" she asked coldly.

She was shaky and incoherent the morning she discovered her father's death and the same could be said about her Tita Helga. She can't recall telling him anything, though. She's not even sure why she'd called him in the first place but before she realized what she did, he's already there calmly taking care of everything for her father's funeral.
