Heyo! Just a little note for you guys here today! In this imagine you are about the age of 17ish. Okie! Hope you all love it!
~~~~~~~~~~
Today has just been absolutely shit-tastic. First, you woke up a bit late, you missed the bus, and your dad couldn't take you, so you had to run to school. Second, you got your first ever tardy. Third, a snobby, preppy girl decided to just start insulting you and your dad. That lead to you lashing out and punching her in the face which lead to the two of you fighting. And of course, you won. But, you got a black eye and a day of detention. The girl had her parents called and she was sent home for two days.
Now, you were walking back to Stark Tower...... IN THE FREAKING RAIN!!!
You walked into the tower with your sweatshirt hood up and your head down, sopping wet. You entered the elevator and the doors closed.
"Hello, Miss Barnes. How was school?" Friday asked.
"Fine. Take me up to mine and Dad's floor please." You mumbled.
"Right away." She hummed back and the elevator started moving. You kept your head down as all of the insults the girl said towards you, raced around your head and made you tear up a little bit.
The elevator stopped and opened up. You walked past your dad in the kitchen, head still low and hood still covering up your face.
"Hey, Kiddo! How was school?" Bucky asked you cheerfully as you walked by and to your bedroom.
"Fine." You mumbled and closed the door to your room. You quickly changed into some dry clothes, which were a pair of sweatpants, tank top, sports bra, and a sweatshirt that you stole from your dad with the hood flipped up; and got started on your homework.
You were thankful that you back faced the door and your desk faces the huge floor to ceiling window. You had your hand stuffed into your hair and your head leaning against it. After about a half hour, you finished and flopped on your bed. Back to the door and your phone in hand, pillow tucked under your head and a stuffed bear that you've had since you were a baby tucked under your arm. As you played on your phone, you began to feel sleepy and you pulled a fuzzy blanket up and over your face, you fell asleep moments later with your phone still in hand.
Bucky was sat in the living room, a little concerned about you. You weren't as bubbly and happy as you usually were. So, Bucky heaved himself up off the couch and walked back to your room. He knocked on the door and no answer came. He tried again, still no answer.
"Friday, is (Y/N) ok?" He asked the AI.
"Yes, Mr. Barnes. She is just napping." She responded.
"Oh. Ok. Thank you." He mumbles and slowly opens the door to see you curled up with you blanket covering your face and your phone in your hand. He smiled and walked over to you and sat on the bed next to you. He turned off your phone and set it on the bedside table for you.
You curled up in a tighter ball and covered your face more. Bucky chuckled lightly and kissed your forehead before leaving your room, closing the door behind him softly and going out to the kitchen to start dinner.
After about an hour, you woke up from your power nap and grabbed your phone before stretching a little bit and deciding to go see what your dad was up to. You opened the door and the smell of your favorite food wafting from the kitchen. You smiled and made sure the hood was pulled over your left eye before you walked into the kitchen and wrapped your dad in a hug from behind.
"Hey, how was your nap?" Bucky asked when he felt your arms wrap around his waist.
"Good." You mumbled and come to stand next to him to watch what he was doing.
"That's good." He nods and is silent for a moment. "Are you alright kiddo?" He asked gently and looked at you.
"Yeah. School was just kinda shitty." You nodded a little bit and stirred some of the food.
"Mm. Gotcha." He nodded and brushed our hood back. You tried to stop him but he was faster. He caught sight of your black eye and touched it gently with his cool metal hand, going into protective and worried dad mode.
"Oh my god. What happened?" He asked and tilted your head slightly to get a better look. You gently pulled your head out of his grasp and pulled the hood back up.
"I'm fine. Just got in a little fight today and got a day of detention. Nothing big." You shrugged and went to sit at the counter facing the kitchen. Bucky grabbed an ice pack for you and wrapped it in a towel before reaching across the counter and gently placing against your eye and you grabbed it.
"Ok. But how did you get in a fight today?" He asked.
"A snobby, preppy girl started to insult me, which I could take. But then she dragged you into the insults and I snapped." You mumbled, holding back tears.
Bucky nods and gives you a look like continue.
"So, I kinda lashed out and we started fighting. I busted her nose, gave her a black eye and split her lip. But what she said wasn't true and it just made me mad. And you don't deserve to be insulted, Dad." You ranted slightly and looked up at him as a few tears fell down your face.
Bucky quickly rounded the counter and came to wrap you in a hug. You buried your face in his neck and laid the ice pack on the counter, wrapping your arms around him tightly. Bucky just held you close and rubbed your back as he let you cry. Yeah, you were a tough kid, but you weren't really good when it came to expressing emotions at certain times.
After a few minutes, you pulled away and wiped some tears from your face and Bucky did too a little bit. He handed you the ice pack again and you gently placed it over your black eye.
"You're right. It was wrong of her to do that. But, you can't just beat people up when it comes to that stuff, ok?" He paused and you nodded a little bit. "However, I'm proud of you for standing up for me though. It takes a lot for some people to stand up to that like you did. I'm not mad, just to let you know, ok? But I am really, really, really proud of you for fighting for what's right." Bucky told you and a small grin spread across your face.
"Thanks, Dad." You mumbled and gave him a slight smile.
"Anything for you kiddo." Bucky smiled back and wrapped you up in another hug.
You guys sat there for a few minutes before you smelled something burning.
"Uh, Dad? What's... Burning?" You asked and pulled away.
"Shit!" Bucky cursed and ran over to the stove where your dinner was smoking.
You laughed as you watched him try to put it out. Bucky chuckled at you but was kinda mad at himself for burning your guys' dinner.
"Ok. Well, shall we go see what the rest of the team's eating? Or do you want to get takeout?" Bucky asked as he leaned himself on his arms onto the counter.
"Mmmmmmmm." You hummed and pretended to tap your chin in thought. Bucky chuckled as he watched you.
"Take out. I don't want to explain to all my Aunts and Uncles why I have a black eye." You explained and twirled yourself around on your swivel stool.
"Alright. Cool." Bucky nodded and proceeded to call in your takeout order. Once it came and you guys ate, you just chilled the rest of the night and watched movies together on the couch.
As you fell asleep, Bucky started to think about how lucky he was to have an awesome kid like you. You were his soldier, his brick wall that blocked out haters, his shield of vibranium that protected him from all the bad that you could, in some ways you were even his shelter in times of need. But most of all, you were just his Tough Kid and nothing could ever change that.
