You and Bucky have been dating for almost two years. And Bucky had loved every minute of it, so have you. You always made sure he felt loved, no matter what and he did the same.
But Bucky always had his fears. And his biggest one was that you would just disappear and leave him behind. That scared him to no end and he hated it. So, when you two slept, he always cuddled you and held onto you like you were the last thing left in the world.
And you would always reassure him that you would always be with him.
So, one night while you two were in bed, almost asleep with Bucky's head on your shoulder and his arms around you and your head was resting on his with a hand on his shoulder, silence enclosing the two of you, Bucky spoke.
"(Y/N)?" Bucky asked softly.
"Yeah?" You mumbled. Silence followed for a few minutes.
"....nothing. Nevermind." He whispered.
"Ok. Night Bucky Bear." You mumbled and kissed his forehead.
A few minutes passed before Bucky spoke up again.
"(Y/N)?" Bucky asked.
"I'm still here Bucky. Promise." You mumbled with a small smile.
"Ok. Sorry for waking you up." Bucky mumbled.
"It's alright, Bucky Bear. Just get some sleep baby." You whispered.
"Ok. I love you." Bucky whispered.
"I love you too. And I'll always be here." You whispered back with a small smile. Kissing his forehead again, you drifted off to sleep.
Bucky laid there for a few more minutes. A small smile on his face, knowing you'd be there when he woke up. That was settling enough for him and he was grateful for you. He drifted off with a small smile, knowing you'd be there.
