Bucky and Emily Barnes have been married for 20 years. And they have three kids. A 16-year-old son named Grant, a 14-year-old son named James Jr but they just call him Junior, and a beautiful 8-year-old daughter named Stephanie, who they named after their best friend Steve. They were a happy family. Steph was loved by her big brothers and they always roughhoused outside whenever they could. The family has a house a bit away from the Upstate New York Avengers facility.

Emily had powers like Wanda and she loved to use her powers whenever she could and to show Stephanie the beauty of it. The boys loved to stay outside with their father and help him out around the house with a lot of things. But as far and Emily and Bucky knew, none of the kids had powers that they would have got from their mother.

But they didn't care. Just as long as their kids were happy as they were, Emily and Bucky were happy too.

There were having a peaceful night one day, just watching movies and chilling. Steph was curled up in her father's lap, Emily was leaning against Bucky's side with Steph's head in her lap as she was running her fingers through Steph's dark brown curls. Grant was sitting next to his mother and Junior was on the other side of Bucky. The five of them all fit onto the big couch that was in their living room.

All was well until the power cut out. Bucky and Emily went into all protective parents mode and told the kids to stay there while they went to go look. Emily used her powers to light up the room for the kids and she made a light for her and Bucky to use. They stopped and ran back to the living room when they heard a crash.

Emily was hit with some sort of taser thing that made her drop to the ground and the same happened to Bucky. HYDRA agents had broken into their home and tied up all of the Barnes'. An agent had Stephanie held in front of him by her hair and she was afraid.

"Let her go! Please!" Emily cried over and over until an agent tied a gag around her mouth. Grant and Junior were already gagged, leaving Bucky the only one to try and calm down Stephanie until they started to beat him up and then they gagged him as well.

"So, little girl. Who should we kill first? You? Or one of your brothers?" The agent holding her asked and Emily's eyes widened.

"Let me go. Please." Stephanie cried, tears streaming down her face.

They kept asking her who over and over again. Until she got so scared when they held a gun to her head and she screamed as it fired. Bucky and Emily closed their eyes and tensed up when they heard the gun go off.

But everything seemed to stop as the agents froze, the bullet inches from Stephanie's head. The bullet then whizzed past her and into another agent. The other HYDRA operatives were frozen in time. Bucky opened his eyes slowly to see that Stephanie was ok and all the operatives were frozen. The boys looked around confused. Emily was still tensed up until she heard Stephanie's feet run over to her and her eyes flew open. Relief flooded through her blue eyes as she watched Steph untie her father and then go over to her brothers as Bucky untied Emily.

"She's ok. Oh, thank god. Thank god." Emily muttered until she was able to stand. She then went over to the kids to see that they were ok.

"Grant, take Steph and Junior down to the basement. And stay there until either your father or I come and get you. Ok? And stay hidden." She instructed and he nodded before picking up Stephanie and he led Junior down to the basement where they could hide. As soon as they were hidden, the operatives unfroze.
