The park was in walking distance so Fletch called round with Mac pulling on his lead
He really is a little git thought Fletch but he had provided a good excuse for spending  time with Jac.
Jac had been up early and made sandwiches and cooked sausages for Mac.
They made their way down to the park and let Mac off the lead and then spread out the blanket.
"This is a positive feast" Fletch commented "Jac Naylor domestic goddess. Who knew?"
"Well I can tell you now Fletcher that if anyone at work finds out I will literally cut off your balls"
Fletch guffawed "ok, your secret's safe with me"
"Ooh is that wine too?"
"Well I thought we'd take advantage of no one having to drive"
They settled down to eat lunch, Jac calling Mac over. Whilst they finished the bottle of wine they 'people watched' and made up life stories for the couples and groups of people in the park
"Now you see she is clearly not that interested in him. Back slightly turned, texting someone"
"Blind date?" Fletch said
"Maybe or dating app. Whatever it's new, it's awkward and it's not going to work"
"Whereas they are love's young dream" Fletch pointed over to a pair of teenagers, holding each other's hands and giggling. Stopping every now and then for a chaste kiss
He held my hand everyday for three weeks she thought. What wouldn't she give for that now.
They hadn't noticed how cloudy it had become whilst they were playing their game
"I think it's time to pack up" Fletch said finally noticing the sky "I'll do this. You call Mac"
They had everything packed away and Mac back on his lead just as the first distant rumble of thunder could be heard.
"Come on. God knows how Prince Mac will deal with a thunderstorm" Fletch said
They made their way quickly out of the park as big fat raindrops began to fall. It felt like the heavens had opened as they rounded the corner onto Fletch's street and they broke into a run, Fletch grabbed Jac's hand like it was the most natural thing in the world. Jac's heart was  nearly beating out of her chest. It felt so right. By the time they got to Fletch's they were both thoroughly soaked to the skin. Unlocking the door and in the process letting go of Jac's hand, Fletch headed straight to the kitchen as he knew Mac would be shaking himself and  Fletch judged the kitchen flooring to be best option. Sure enough Mac shook himself, lay down on his bed and promptly fell asleep
"I would have put money on him being a complete drama queen in a sto...." Fletch was suddenly speechless as he turned round to look at Jac
"What? What's wrong?"
Fletch remained frozen
"Fletch what is it?"
"It's um your erm" he gestured to her white shirt which was now plastered to her body revealing her lacy bra
Jac gasped and instinctively folded her arms across her chest blushing furiously
Fletch slowly moved towards her. He couldn't help it he was going to have to kiss her
"Don't" he said gently moving her arms
Before either of them really knew what was happening his lips were on hers. Soft and gentle at first but increasingly more toe curling as Jac responded, kissing him back. Had they both wanted this all these months?
"I'm sorry" Fletch said slightly breathless "I couldn't help myself"
"Don't apologise Fletch. Unless you didn't notice I couldn't help myself either" she smiled shyly. His hands were on her waist their wet bodies pressed against each other. Suddenly Jac shivered
"Let's get you out of these wet clothes"
Jac's eyebrows shot up
"And into some dry ones" he laughed
