On the ward

Hi how you feeling? Texted Fletch as he left for work
Bit nervous but ok. You?
Absolutely fine. See you later love Fx
Jac put her phone in her bag and hurried out of the house. She was driving today and smiled to herself as she was stuck in traffic. Nervous about going into work - me? It was almost laughable.
Walking onto the ward Jac was looking out for Fletch. She didn't see him but when she reached her office she got another text
Looking good Naylor. Always liked  that blue blouse Fx
Where are you? How have you seen me? Jx
A kiss on a text from Jac? He chuckled to himself
Don't worry I'm not stalking you I was just walking down the stairs from Keller and I saw you in the car park. What time are you bringing me my coffee? Fx
It will be a surprise Mr Fletcher. In other words I don't know when I will get a break  Jx
Jac opened her computer which would tell her her electives theatre list. Barring emergencies it was a reasonably quiet day.
She went onto the ward and started the ward round with Nicki. Fletch arrived 5 minutes into it
"Mr Fletcher. Nice of you to join us" said Jac  in her usual sarcastic tone laughing inside
"Sorry I'm late Ms Naylor" he said trying to hide a smirk
And there it was, they'd managed the first interaction with each other in public on the ward.
Jac was in theatre for the rest of the morning whilst Fletch was in meetings. She saw him return to his office as she was at the nurses station signing off files.
"I'm taking a break now" Jac said to Nicki "page me if there's any problems"
Jac went down to pulses, bought two coffees, a chicken salad and one of Fletch's favourite disgusting sandwiches. As she was paying it struck her how well they knew each other.
Returning to the ward she managed to reach Fletch's office without being seen. She tapped gently on the door
"Come in"
She entered with difficulty juggling coffees and lunch
"Hi" he beamed leaping up to help
"Hi" she returned his grin
"You bought lunch too?"
"Is that ok?" Suddenly worried that it was too much
"0f course it's ok. I was only expecting coffee" he had by now put his arms round her waist and bent to kiss her forehead
Jac raised her eyebrows
Fletch chuckled "oh alright then"
He brought his lips down to hers, they sank into the kiss which deepened quickly
"Mmm Fletch stop" Jac managed to mumble and pull away
"No" he said gently nibbling her bottom lip
"Stop. Or we won't stop and we're in your office for god sake"
He reluctantly conceded that she had a point and they sat and ate lunch.
"You know if you think about kissing objectively, it is disgusting. If it didn't feel so good you would never dream of putting your tongue in somebody else's mouth" mused Fletch
"That's random Fletcher" Jac laughed
"Not really I was just wondering if I was going to kiss you again this lunchtime"
"And that made you announce that objectively kissing was disgusting. Thanks" she laughed
Fletch reached over and whispered in her ear "I also said it felt good. There are other things that are equally disgusting that feel even better than kissing, Ms Naylor"
The vibrations of his lips sent shivers down her spine
"Not at work though"
"Spoilsport"
"Not yet" Jac smirked
Fletch pretended to look shocked
"Oh come on we've both done it"
"That's true but we're older and wiser now right?"
"Right"
Lunch and coffees finished Jac got up to leave, Fletch was quickly by her side
"Hey Naylor. What you doing tonight?"
"Nothing planned" she snaked her arms round his waist
"I'm going to ask Maggie to watch the kids. I want to take you out. Or stay in, it's your choice as long as I get to see you"
"I'll let you know later. I'm still finding full days tiring, but one way or another I do want to see you" she smiled into his eyes
"That is very good news Ms Naylor" he said hugging her "off you go now, go and save lives" he slapped her backside as she turned to leave and the smile on her face didn't leave her all day
