"Hey" Fletch said greeting Jac at the nurses station
"Mr Fletcher"
He chuckled "Emma ok going to school this morning?"
"Oh she's full of it" she lowered her voice "full of last night too. She had a great time"
"Me too" he whispered which earned him a playful punch on the arm
Frieda walked past, rolled her eyes and muttered something in Ukrainian
Fletch smirked "anyway apparently some guy was up here earlier looking for you. Didn't leave a name, gonna come back"
"Some guy" Jac said sarcastically "well I'm not sure I can stand the suspense. I have a head of department meeting to get to. Are you coming?" She asked the director of nursing
"I am as it happens. The most boring hour of the month"
"Tell me about it"
He followed her into her office as she gathered her files.
Shutting the door he quickly went to stand behind her arms encircling her waist. "First meeting together since this started Ms Naylor" he said gently nuzzling her neck
"Mmm" she sighed. She loved it when he did that.
"Just don't sit next to me" he said
"Why not"
"Because I don't think I could trust myself not to play footsie or sneak a hand onto your thigh"
"Well definitely no sitting next to one another then" Jac smirked
Throughout the whole meeting they surreptitiously stole glances at each other. Jac felt like a silly school girl with a crush. This thought nearly made her laugh out loud. She had to bite her cheek to stifle the giggle.
As they walked back to the ward after the meeting, Fletch asked her about her stifled laughter. Jac blushed
"That's for me to know" she said neatly evading the question
"Well then I accept the challenge for me to find out" he smirked
They were both still exchanging silly comments as the walked onto the ward,
Approaching the nurses station Jac stopped abruptly and Fletch narrowly avoided bumping into her
"Watch out Naylor"he said but Jac was not listening
"Joseph" Jac said looking at the man who had once been the love of her life. Who had broken her heart and whom she had refused to go away with
