Jacula

They were sitting having a coffee before the kids came back from Maggie's
"So what did Joseph actually say?"
"Oh Fletch do we really have to"
"I'm just curious what he had to offer"
"Well nothing actually. Thought about me every day for the past 7 years blah blah blah. But he didn't offer anything. He couldn't have offered anything to take me away from you anyway"
"I can't blame him for trying. I mean who wouldn't"
"Oh shut up Fletcher"
"Tony thinks you're a stunner and I can only agree"
"This is Tony your new BFF"
"He is a wise man who sells whiskey to heartbroken losers"
"Again, shut up Fletcher" she laughed and reached over to kiss him
They were disturbed by Mac's barking and loud chattering and laughing at the front door.
"Let the chaos commence" said Fletch getting up to answer the door
"Are you all better now Dad?" Evie asked smirking as she eyed Jac
"Much better thank you oldest child" she rolled her eyes. Jac was impressed
"Thanks for having them all Maggie" Jac said
"Oh it's no bother honestly. They are my adopted grandchildren. Ours live in New Zealand so we don't exactly see them much" she smiled "and he's my baby" she picked Mac up
"He's a little shit" Fletch said under his breath. Jac heard and smiled to herself. Mac helped them get together, she couldn't bring herself to be annoyed by him.
"Ok miss Emma., Time to go home"
"Aww Mummy"
"Don't 'aww Mummy' me young lady. Now please go and get your things"
"Dad, why don't you ask them to stay?" Evie said smirking
"Oi pipe down you" Fletch said embarrassed by his 14 yr daughter
"It's fine. We're going" laughed Jac.
The next day was Saturday and no one was at work
"You know you could stay if you wanted and then you could give me a lift to the hospital in the morning to pick up my car which I left when I came home 'ill'" said Fletch
"Erm well"
"You might as well Jacula cos he's just gonna spend all night pining for ya and ringing ya every minute if you don't" said Mikey cheekily
Jac laughed
"Jacula? Really? To her face?"
"She loves it Dad" Mikey ran off to his room before he got into any more trouble
The other kids had all gone off to the garden
"Pining for me?" She smirked
"That boy is a cheeky little bugger"
"I think he's a chip off the old block" she smiled
"Oh be quiet 'Jacula'. So you gonna stay then?"
"You just want a lift in the morning Fletcher"
He wrapped her in his arms
"Am I that transparent"
"As a pane of glass babe"
He chuckled "what a day Naylor" he kissed the top of her head "there was a moment there where I wasn't expecting to end the day with you in my arms"
