Dear Future Husband,

I keep thinking that once I find you, everything is going to work out. Everything will be good once you're in my life, but what if I'm wrong? Everyone says that love is hard, and I've chosen to ignore what they say, but I'm starting to think maybe I shouldn't.

How can love be hard? Because you can't stand to hurt the person? Why would we be hurting each other? Because life throws obstacles that are hard to overcome? Why wouldn't we just jump over them together and keep going? Because people are naturally flawed? Why wouldn't we love each other regardless of flaws?

If love is perfect, why is it hard? Why would there be any problem in loving you? Why can't we face problems with the sheer knowledge that we love each other?

What if we don't know we love each other?

What if we doubt loving each other?

What if we don't love each other?

What if love isn't real?

What if you aren't real?

What if you got hit by a bus?

What if there was a mix up and you love someone else?

What if?

What if?

What if?

What if?

What if?

No, I can't worry about the possibilities, I have to focus on what I know.

I love you, even if you're not real, even if you don't love me back, even if we never meet.

I love you.

And that's easy to do.

Even if it's loving the idea of you.

Xoxo, Alina
