Nick never hid his thoughts. He always thought the nicest things, so there was no need to hide them from anyone else.

So the fact that on this summer day he was wearing a hoodie, John found it suspicious.

Nick seemed normal; no one questioned the hoodie.

But John was about to do just that.

He came up to Nick when no one else is around. "Hey, Nick?"

"Oh, hey John! What's up?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure! What's on your mind?"

"Why are you wearing a hoodie?"

Nick's face almost dropped, but he managed to keep a smile. "I think it looks good with my outfit, don't you?"

"Sure," John replied, a smirk making its way to his face, "but you never wear hoodies in the summer, even if you do look good in them."

Nick's face faltered for a second, and John knew he had something.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Nick quickly protested. "I'm sure I've worn hoodies in the summer before. I think you're making conclusions you shouldn't be." He poked John's nose, smiling because he thought he had this.

"Or am I? You're awfully defensive for something that means 'nothing'. What did you think that's so bad that you can't share with the rest of us?"

"Nothing! I swear it's nothing! And I'm not defensive, I'm just stating why you're wrong."

"Where is it?" John asked. "Your arms? That would be the easiest spot to hide." He proceeded to push his hands up Nick's sleeves. Nick's face was starting to turn pink as he pulled back.

"Quit it! You're not gonna get anywhere if you keep doing that."

"I beg to differ," John said, his smirk growing. He grabbed Nick's sleeve, and before Nick could protest, he pushed it up and held it there so Nick wouldn't push it back down. He quickly found a spot he hadn't seen before, and began reading.

His face soon became red and his smirk fell. He bit his lip and glanced up at Nick, who was looking away, embarrassed.

John smirked again, building back his confidence. "So you wanna see me bounce, eh?"

"Shut up!" Nick hissed, pushing his sleeve back down and pulling his arm back.  John snickered and grabbed Nick's arm.

"Maybe I can show you how well I bounce at your house later tonight, hm?"

Nick's face turned even redder. He didn't even try to reply to John's remark at first, he knew it wasn't going to go anywhere. "Just shut up and let's catch up with the others," he muttered finally, pulling John along. John laughed and grinned, grabbing Nick's hand as they walked.
