Laf said, "Haircut next. Go change back into your regular clothes." John stepped closer. "Yeah, and give me the other stuff."
Alexander beamed, dashing back into the dressing room. He came out a few minutes later in his original clothing. He then handed John the clothes that Hercules said that would work.
John took the clothes and headed up to the front desk to pay.
Alexander quickly followed his friends. "Thank you for doing this for me guys..."
"Yeah. Of course," John said, smiling over at Alexander as he passed the cashier a card with the clothes. Laf leaned on the counter on Alexander's other side, saying, "Even if you had the resources to do this yourself, mon ami, I don't think you'd think to do it. Too much up here." He touched Alexander's temple.
Alexander groaned. "At least good stuff is up here, and I don't think with this." he pointed to Lafayette's crotch.
Laf wasn't the least bit offended. He merely smirked and preened and said, "At least this makes people happy, little three-friends."
Alexander gasped. "You french fucker." he laughed. "How do you know if they make people happy? They seem pretty virgin to me."
John interrupted to say, "I can say, without a doubt, that Laf isn't a virgin." He took the receipt and handed all the clothing bags to Herc.
"Or maybe he isn't, and he is just a slut by nature." Alexander pointed out.
Laf nodded. "I thought...I thought this was common knowledge." John added, "Yeah. Hercules is the one who says he gets laid but really just spends all night watching 'Say Yes to the Dress'." Herc shot back, "Nah, man! I have tons of sex! All the time!" This got them several uneasy looks from passersby. John shook his head. "Thinking about Laf in the shower doesn't count, Herc."
"Ha!" Alexander laughed. "Let's face it, we're all just of sluts."
"I think having sex with Alexander one time does not give John the right to call himself a slut," Laf put out there. John said slyly, "Maybe shit's happened since then." Laf and Herc gasped in shock.
Alexander's eyes widened, his jaw dropping. "Oh? How so?"
As Herc and Laf (mostly Lafayette) pestered him for answers, John raised his hands as if he had no power in the situation. "Not supposed to tell you."
"Please... tell us." Alexander begged to the boy. He clung to his arms.
John thought about what exactly to say, then pulled his friends over to a bench and sat down. "Okay. It was over the summer."
"Tell me more!!" Alexander grinned, wanting to hear about John's love life... for some reason. "Tell me more!!"
John groaned in embarrassment. "Okay. Okay. Well, she--" Lafayette stopped him with a gasp. "SHE?!" John immediately explained, "I was drunk on party champagne and separation anxiety, okay? It did confirm some things, duh."
Alexander listened in, sitting beside John on the bench. "Yeah?"
John reached up and twisted some of his hair as he spoke. "Well, you know, my dad had a business thing while we were in London. Of course. And it was like a ball type thing. All, you know, 18th-century and everything..." He seemed kind of nervous.
Alexander nodded. "Yeah... you told us before... w-what about it?"
John nodded and took Alexander's hand, as if for support. "What I didn't tell you was..." He paused for a steadying breath, giving Lafayette time to work himself up to a very fearful, dreading state. John finally continued, "There's this girl."
"Okay?" Alexander sighed, tilting his head.
"Well, you all know how my dad acts. Literally, every part of my life is supposedly planned. So, while I'm sort of dancing and wishing I were, you know, anywhere but there, he brings over this business colleague of his, that guy's wife, and their daughter, Martha. Immediately, I can tell something's up because my dad volunteers me to dance with her. And..." He shrugged. "She's cool and all, whatever. We spent half the time getting shitfaced, so I don't even really remember." He glanced up at Alexander before looking back down. "And keep in mind that this was in a hotel ballroom, so we ended up going back to my family's suite." Herc groaned out, "Ooooh, shiiiit..."
Alexander's jaw dropped, once again. "Holy shit."
John nodded and said, "Yeah, well...we, um...y'know...and afterward, we were just laying there, and do you know what she tells me?"
"What does she tell you?" Alexander asked.
Laf looked like he was about to have a heart attack from the drama. Herc had a death grip on his hand. John took a deep breath and said, "She tells me that she's a hooker. No, like, an escort. And dad and dad's London contact hired her to literally, like, seduce me."
Alexander gasped. "That little bitch!!"
Maybe now Lafayette was having a heart attack. Sure felt like it. John said, "I mean, I don't blame her or anything. She didn't have to tell me. And it was kind of an affirmation that wow I am very gay because I didn't enjoy it even drunk." He shifted how he sat. "So, I rush downstairs, planning to confront my dad in front of everybody, but I end up not. Duh. He's the only person on earth I'm scared of."
"You should though!" Alexander crossed his arms.
"I would if he was ever home..." John hedged uneasily, before hammering the story home by saying, "Anyway, she's been texting me, asking me to chat. It's a mess." Herc said, "Well, are you gonna?" John shook his head and Laf said, "You lost your gold star to her, mon ami, you can't let her go! She knows too much."
Alexander hugged his friend tightly. "You should really tell someone... y'know... besides us.."
"I mean...nothing came of it. My dad just thinks that because I don't grab the ass of every woman I meet, I must just be shy and in need of a wingman." John rolled his eyes. "It's...whatever, you know. I just don't think about it."
Alexander shrugged. "And that's fine. Honestly, people who grope others are just dicks, too."
"Tell my dad that. That's how he and my mom met." John shook his head. "But yeah. That's it."
Alexander's eyes widened. "Oh... okay."
Laf sighed. "I wish you would have told us sooner," he said. John reached over and patted his leg. "I would've, you know that. I just...didn't. I don't know why."
Alexander nodded. "It is okay, John. It is okay."
John got up. "Whatever. Let's get your hair done."
Alexander stood up as well, nodding quickly.
Laf took Alexander by the hand and led him off toward the nearby hair salon.
"So excited." Alexander teased to Laf, sticking out his tongue.
