"What do you think that was?"

The same question was on everyone else's mind, but Clara was the first to voice it.

"Not the reaction I expected, that's for sure," Sarah responded. "Well, the part where he stared at him and swore was, not the part where he hugged him and looked inexplicably happy."

"Well, explicably, actually. We just don't know what the reason is," Emma reasoned.

"But what was that thing that Nick did when he, like, glanced down at his hand or something and back up at Jeff?" Stephanie asked.

"I think he was trying to draw attention to it, but I don't know why. There was nothing there," Sarah pointed out.

Emma sighed. "Well, we have four options. Either we ask Jeff, we ask Nick, we let it go and let it bother us forever, or-"

"Or we spy," Sarah finished.

Emma looked mildly surprised. "Um, okay. Let's pretend I was going to say that."

"I volunteer myself," Sarah said.

"Yeah, we volunteer you too," Stephanie said, pushing her off the bed slightly. "Now go."

Sarah did so, quietly creeping down the hall. Jeff's door was closed, but she put her phone camera up against the keyhole and watched through the screen.

She could hear them if she was silent. They were both sitting on Jeff's bed, Jeff looking at Nick's forearm in awe.

"I still can't believe it." He ran his thumb across the skin on Nick's forearm. "It's like it was never there."

"I was really excited when I saw it. I was excited to just wear short sleeves in front of you and watch you realize it."

Jeff chuckled, but it sounded rather watery. He pressed a kiss to the bare skin on Nick's arm.

"Are you crying?" Nick asked softly.

"Happy tears, happy tears," Jeff quickly said. Nick seemed to relax. "I'm just really proud of you. You know I love you, right?"

Nick smiled softly. "And we've come full circle. I love you too."

When Sarah got back to the room, they all looked at her expectantly.

"Nothing. You know, maybe we should just drop it. It's kind of silly."

They knew it wasn't nothing, because Sarah never gave up that easily. They did know that if she told them to drop it, it must be personal or something.

"Yeah, okay. You have a point," Stephanie said. They all added their agreement.
