"Guys, we figured out why I can't fucking read."

They were all in one dorm like usual, catching each other up on things.

Blaine chuckled. "Great way to start, Nick."

"You seem to be a lot more willing to talk about it," David observed.

Nick shrugged. "Yeah, because I know I'm not just an idiot now. We figured out that I have this thing called... Damn it, what's it called?" The last sentence was directed at Jeff.

"Visual motor deficit," Jeff filled in.

"Yeah, that. So, not an idiot."

They were quiet for a minute, making Nick rather nervous. "Guys?"

"Nick, we're happy you figured it out, don't get me wrong. But how did you get all the way to high school without knowing something that big?" Sebastian asked.

"Yeah, didn't your family get concerned about your grades?"

"My family was too eager to accept that I was just an idiot," Nick said. Then he chuckled nervously, finger-gunning at them. "But you didn't know that, because I didn't tell you. My parents deny it, but my whole family hates me because I'm gay."

Seeing Wes and Sebastian's expressions, he added, "Not that kind of hate. Just the avoids-me hate and pretends-to-plan-trips-so-I-can't-go-home-for-Winter-Break hate. Anyway, what's new with the rest if you?"

"Blaine and I got a new roommate," Kurt said. "I think he's scared of us or something."

"Why, because he walked in on you f–"

"Is he the guy who sits with the lacrosse team? Really long, curly black hair?" Sebastian interrupted Jeff.

"Yeah," Blaine said.

"He's probably intimidated. He's like Blake's best friend now, and Blake doesn't have the best view of us. And he's definitely been filling him in on the rumors about us."

"He sat next to me in English today. He seemed tense but relaxed as we were working and talking," Thad added. "Something was off, though."

Sebastian snickered. "Well, I heard him asking a very exasperated Blake if you were single today."

"Oh, god." Thad buried his face in his hands. "What'd he say?"

"Basically that nobody even knew if you were gay or single, and that it was pointless. He seemed to take the 'pointless' part as a personal offense until Blake talked him down and said that wasn't what he meant."

"How'd you overhear all of this?" Kurt asked.

"Locker room. He watches lacrosse practice, I think Blake's trying to get him to join."
