"Are you going somewhere?"

Kurt turned around from where he was adjusting the scarf around his neck. "Oh, I completely forgot to tell you! I'm meeting my friends at the Lima Bean."

Blaine chuckled. "You look very cute to be going to get coffee with out friends."

"They haven't seen me in forever. I can't let them think that my fashion sense got boring from being in a uniform school."

"Hm, nothing could make you boring, Kurt Hummel." Blaine kissed him. "If anyone tries to hit on you, let them know that you have a boyfriend who will not hesitate to snap their dick in half if they lay a finger on you."

Kurt laughed. "That's a new threat. And don't worry; even if I don't tell them I have a boyfriend, five other people will."

"Good." They kissed again before Kurt went out to his car, driving down to the Lima Bean.

When he walked in the door, he was immediately engulfed in a hug. He laughed, hugging back. "Don't snap me in half, Cedes," he joked.

She laughed, letting go of him. "I have not seen you in too long, white boy."

"Ugh, it has been too long," he agreed.

"Let me at my brother," Finn said, pushing past Mercedes to hug Kurt. He actually lifted him off the ground with his enthusiasm.

Kurt laughed breathlessly. "Finn, let me down," he said, clearly not able to breathe.

Finn immediately did so. "Sorry! I'm just excited to see you."

"I'm excited to see you too. It'd be a shame if you broke one of my ribs, though," Kurt teased.

They were all thrilled to see Kurt, and not the Kurt that they'd see at Mckinley before he left– the actual Kurt, happy and safe.

Kurt grinned, looking around at all of them, when he saw–

"Adam," he said, tone unreadable. "Um, how do you guys know each other?"

"Apparently," Adam said, his British accent ringing like a bell in Kurt's ears, "I transferred here a bit after you left. I mean, what are the odds?"

Kurt nodded. "Very, very low odds."

"Yeah, then he told us he was your boyfriend and you never told us about him," Santana said. "Which I find fishy. And he doesn't seem to have too many memories of you two."

"Nope, he is definitely– definitely my ex boyfriend."

"But what about the memories?" she pressed. "It doesn't seem right."

Oh, I certainly have a memory. See, I went to him for help, but he coaxed me back into my car even though it was "It was a while ago, and we broke up. Who hangs onto those memories? Anyway, we didn't come here to talk about this."

"I agree. What about someone current?" Rachel, appeared, balancing two drink holders filled with coffee cups in her hands. She winked at him.

He laughed, taking his mocha. "What exactly are you suggesting, Ms. Berry?"

Hands empty, she shoved his shoulder playfully, giggling. "I want to hear about your boyfriend! Finn won't tell us anything, he just said that we were going to see you soon and that you would tell us."

He chuckled, almost forgetting Adam was there as they sat down. "Well, his name's Blaine. He is... He's perfect. He's so funny, and caring, and sweet, and he's such a dork– he always gels his hair down but when he takes it out he has these tiny ringlet curls, they're absolutely adorable, and when he wakes up they're everywhere–"

Kurt was so into describing Blaine that he hadn't even realized what he had implied. Santana, of course, didn't miss it.

"'When he wakes up?'" she repeated, smirking. "Lady Hummel, something to tell us?"

They expected to just roll their eyes at Santana, but instead they got a furiously blushing Kurt.

Adam raised an eyebrow and spoke up, ruining the moment of Kurt even enjoying being teased by Santana after being away from them for so long. "You keep surprising me."

Why, because I could actually have sex with someone after our 'first time' that was incredibly rushed and"Well, it's been a while. I'm not who you remember, Adam."

Puck leaned over to Finn. "See? I knew it, I told you they weren't cool exes. That's some serious tension."

"I suppose you aren't. I was under the impression who hadn't changed much when Finn visited you in the hospital. And we all know why you were there, don't we?"

The others looked startled and worried, clearly not having known Kurt was in the hospital. He wasn't surprised– Adam was a master of eavesdropping.

Finn was just concerned because it meant Kurt had been there for that same reason before, back when he was dating Adam. "Kurt, what's he talking about?"

"What, disappointed I came back?" Kurt asked, exterior dropping. His tone was cold, his glare able to burn a hole through solid rock.

He played dumb. Of course. "Kurt, what are you talking about? I was worried!"

"Oh, don't give me that shit. You know perfectly well what I'm talking about."

"I really don't. I'm glad you came back, it was–"

"'Come on, you can do it,'" Kurt recited. "'Just get back in. It's worth it.' Oh, and my personal favorite– 'Come on, you make these plans and never go through with them. Prove you can actually do it.' Any of those ring a bell? Understand what I'm talking about now?"

Finn looked absolutely disgusted and horrified. He was the only one who understood what was going on.

Adam was trying to think of how to play it off, Kurt could tell.

"No, don't think of a way to get out of this. Listen to yourself– 'Come on, you can do it.' You can–"

"Who the hell do you think you are?" Finn hissed. He stood up, a frightened Adam standing up as well and backing away.

"Look, you don't understand–" Adam said, still backing away.

Finn backed him against the wall. "You told him to kill himself," he growled, the others not hearing him. "Who the hell do you think you are to mess with my brother?"

"He wasn't your brother at the time," Adam spat, giving up on the innocent act. "And he wanted my help."

"You should be in jail. You're a sick, twisted person."

"Finn, he's not worth it," Kurt interrupted, pulling him off of his ex boyfriend.

Finn glared at the blonde. "Fine. But we're leaving."

"We're what?" Kurt asked, hold on Finn's arm slipping as he turned.

"We're leaving," he repeated. "Before I commit a murder."

Kurt quickly followed him out of the coffee shop, followed by everyone but Adam.
