Kate

Did I just get myself into a relationship with Tyler Blake?

Yes! Yes I did!

Why? How? What was I thinking? What am I thinking? Relationships and Katherine Grey do not go well together!

Maybe I should faint! Then I could somehow miraculously suffer from amnesia so that I don't have to deal with all of this.

That's cruel. I can't do that. He trusted me enough to open up to me. He's not the same asshole from the parking lot or the prick that forced a kiss out of me weeks ago. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?

Thought after thought spiralled through me as we walked hand in hand towards the entrance of the beach house. My brain was concocting ways in which I could make a run for it but at the same time, it was telling me to stay. I thought that the brain was meant to help you make smart, informed decisions and yet mine seemed to be stuck in limbo.

Either it's broken or there's a certain amount of interference from another part of my body. You know, the part in between my lungs, positioned slightly towards the left side of my body. Yeah! That thing.

We stepped up a short flight of stairs, onto the front porch furnished with an outdoor dining area and pot plants. We were greeted by toasty warmth, opposed to the cool breeze from outside, as we stepped in. The open plan lounge and kitchen welcomed us. It was unlike any beach house I've ever seen. It was modern and updated with a bright, refreshing interior.

"You hungry?" Tyler asked as he walked to the kitchen with me following closely behind.

"Starving!" I told him.

"Pizza sound good?"

"From where?" We weren't anywhere near a pizza place and I doubt he had stocked up on frozen pizza or is planning on making one from scratch.

"Pizza hut."

"They don't deliver out here," I stated.

"I'm sure they can make an exception for the mayor's kid," he winked at me with a smug smile smeared across his face as he worked the coffee machine.

"Again! Abuse of power which, by the way, you never told me that you had."

He looked at me confused, "I thought you knew."

"I did but no thanks to you. Nic and Hazel told me when I was getting the Tyler's bad news talk from them."

He crinkled his nose as he ran his fingers through his hair, almost embarrassed. "I don't blame them," he laughed.

I replied with a chuckle. "You know, they did mention some of the things that you've been through like the DUI and stuff. Did they know about Stephanie as well?"

"They do but not the real story. Not many people do. My parents did a good job in hiding what really happened. The only person other than myself and my family is Dimitri and now you," he answered, handing me a steaming cup of black coffee. "Should I order now?"

"Yes please! Or else my insides are going to sound louder than the ocean," I exclaimed.

He walked over to the lounge and I followed. He took his seat, unlike a normal person, on the floor in front of the TV, with his cup in hand. I took that as my invitation to join him while he pulled out his phone and ordered us a chicken and mushroom pizza.

When the call ended and his eyes once again focused on me, I noticed something about him that I'd never noticed before. My hand instantaneously reached out to touch the scar slightly above his left jawline.
