Tyler
I didn't want to leave her but I also couldn't ignore the text. I didnt tell her what it said because I knew she would freak out and probably wouldn't let me leave. Luckily for me, Alex actually chose the closest hotel to stay in. Victoria thinks he's in town for business so he found it safer staying in a hotel than staying with her. I pulled up in the parking lot of the hotel and wasted no time in making my way through the lobby and into the elevators. I checked the time on my wrist watch and made a mental note that if Specs doesn't call me within the next 10 minutes, I'm calling her myself.
Alex was staying in room 16C on the 3rd floor. I knocked rather impatiently, hoping we can get this over with as soon as possible so I could get back to Specs. After 2 attempts and he still wasn't opening up, I started to yell.
"Yo, Alex. Open up man!" I tapped again.
"Alex!"
The door swung open on the 5th attempt. Alex was in a vest and joggers and rubbed his eyes as if he'd just gotten up leaving me fucking confused.
"Tyler? Its not even 11pm, what the fuck are you doing here?" he asked, slowly waking up as it appeared.
"What do you mean what am I doing here? I got your text." I told him.
"What text, Tyler?" You've got to be fucking kidding me!
"Don't fuck with me Alex. I just got a text from you saying that you and Chris know where Theo is and that we needed to go now if we were gonna get him," I explained and pulled out my phone as proof.
"Tyler, I dont know what you're talking about but I definately didn't send you this text. Chris and I have been coming up empty for days now and you know that."
I felt anger build up in every oriface of my body, so much so that I felt numb. I searched for a logical explanation and I could only come up with one that left me frantic and feeling like a complete asshole the more it started to make sense.
"Fuck!" I cussed out loud. "We have to go now! C'mon!" I told Alex as I made my way towards the elevator and simultaneously dialled Specs.
The call went straight to voicemail.
"Kate's not answering her phone," I told him as he was closing his door.
Just as the elevator pinged to a stop in front of me and we both got in, Hazel's name flashed on my screen.
"I was just about to..." I began to say just as she said my name, her voice laced with fear and worry.
"What is it, Hay?"
"Nic and I are here but we can't find Kate anywhere," she said, confirming what I'd feared.
"I'm on my way," the elevator stopped and we rushed to our cars.
"Tyler, the whole house is trashed," her voice was shaky when she spoke.
"Get out of there now and call Dimitri and tell him to meet me at the house." I turned the key in the ignition and the engine roared to life.
"We're not going anywhere, Ty. If something's happened to Kate we're gonna help."
There was no point in arguing with her so I told her to stay inside until I got there and hung up. I was driving at atleast 30 over the speed limit and in my rearview mirror I saw Alex close behind. I screetched to a stop next to the Mazda in the driveway and sprinted through the already opened front door. I saw the girls standing around the island and when I heard Alex come in behind me, I knew that we were both thinking and feeling the same thing.
