Kate
"Specs! Specs, wake up! Kate!"
A pair of gentle hands and a soothing voice broke through my sleep.
Being shaken awake like that was definitely the worst feeling ever. It's been proven in some cases that people have died of heart failure as a result of this method of breaking one's sleep. I, obviously, wasn't one of the weak hearted but also found myself waking up in a jolt. I felt the beads of sweat that dotted my forehead and heard the sounds of my heart drumming in my chest.
"Tyler!" I finally put a face to those words. "Wha... w-what are you doing here?" I asked in my still disoriented state.
"Don't worry about me, are you okay?" He asked.
I began sitting up with my back against the headboard as I stared at him in confusion.
"Uhm, yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"
"You were talking in your sleep," he answered.
Oh no. That's not good. I never talk in my sleep...but then again, how'd I know?
"What?" By now Tyler had occupied the empty space on the edge of my bed.
"Yeah. You were saying something about your brother and asking him for help, I think," he explained.
His explanation was all I needed to understand what I might've been dreaming of. It was a good thing that that's all he heard or else I'd be bombarded with millions of questions right about now.
"That explains it. It was probably a nightmare. Siblings tend to trigger them," I tried to joke it off.
If only he knew that it was way more than that. That it was one of the 2 things in life that really haunted me. Although, I have no idea what triggered it. For months on end I've been fine. Could it have been my paranoia from last night.
Last night. That Rover. Do I tell Tyler about it? It's probably nothing. I should stop overreacting.
"What time is it?" I asked, hoping for a change in topic.
"Almost 3pm," he replied after deciphering his wrist watch, "what time did you get in last night?"
"Wow. After 1am, I think," a yawn escaped following my answer.
I have no idea how I'd slept for so long. I wasn't hungover so I had no idea why I felt so exhausted- physically and emotionally.
"What are you doing here?" I asked again, genuinely out of curiosity.
He laughed and reached out to stroke my cheeks with the back of his index finger, "long story. You look like you could use a soak. Run you a bath?"
"Yes, please!"
He immediately got to his feet and disappeared into my bathroom. I followed suit, pulling the covers off of me. After thanking Tyler and kicking him out of my bathroom, I brushed my teeth and soaked in the lavender bath for a little under a half hour. It definitely expelled the sleep and fatigue from my body. After drying off, I slipped into a pair of black lace undergarments and slid into my red, satin robe and black bedroom slippers.
Nutty goodness filled my room and I took it all in blissfully. I moved over to my night stand, picked up my glasses and slipped them on. Tyler was pacing with the mug in his hands but paused when he saw me and began walking over.
"Here," he handed me the mug before resting his hands on my waist and pulling me in closer for a quick kiss.
"Thank you," I smiled at him and took a seat on the edge of my bed as I sipped on the coffee.

Romance"You were worried about me, Specs?" He smirked. "No, Tyler. I hoped that someone cut up your corpse and fed it to paranas. Obviously I was, you idiot! I'm a doctor. Worrying about people is kind of programmed into my system. It's a curse if you ask...
