Kate
"Come on, Ty," I groaned, splashing him with a hand full of the salty water, "I'm pruning and the water is freaking cold."
"So?"
"So? I don't want to look like over cooked prawns."
A burst of laughter escaped from his chest, "Then I think you'll be the first decent looking prawn I've ever seen. Speaking of which, I'm starving."
"Well, you can faint of hunger and drown but I'm not sticking around to resuscitate you," I punctuated my sentence by starting the short swim back to shore.
Stepping out of the water, another one of Tyler's oversized t-shirts clung to every inch of my body that it was covering. I grabbed the towel that was lying on the sand and dusted it before drying off.
I felt all kinds of sticky. My hair felt like sand and I'm pretty sure I could taste salt. I was in desperate need of a shower. Tyler joined me on the warm sand minutes after.
"Dibs on the shower," he stated while trying to get water out of his ears.
"What are we, in kindergarten? Dibs! Seriously!"
"We could share," he smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Nice try. Didn't work in the morning did it?"
"Unfortunately not," he scratched the back of his head sheepishly.
"Let's see if your legs are as fast as your mouth."
"What?"
I didn't answer him but rather took off, in what I would say was lightning speed for my standards, towards the house with intentions of getting to the bathroom first. I ignored his pleads for me to wait and once in the bathroom, I made sure to lock the door shut.
I rid myself of the wet clothes and stepped into the shower. A jet of warm water stung my body as relief instantly washed over me. It took me forever to get the sand out of the most unwanted places- the struggle is real. I was halfway through making good use of Tyler's shampoo, don't ask me why a guy has topical smelling shampoo, when I heard a knock on the bathroom door.
"Go away, Blake. You're not getting in," I smugly announced over the sound of the water.
"Fine by me," I could hear a faint slyness in his voice, "but aren't you forgetting something?"
I looked around the bathroom to try and figure out what he was talking about.
Water? Check.
Shampoo and conditioner? Check.
Shower gel? Check.
Towel?... clothes?...
Damn it all to hell and back! Somewhere in my race to get here, my towel must've fallen off my shoulders. Not only that but I didn't even bring in clothes for me to change into.
"Uhmm, you can just it at the door and go, thanks," I yelled back to him.
"Hmm, nope. I think I'm going to stay." I could practically hear him smile.
Way to go, Kate!
After adding the conditioner, rinsing it off and washing my body with the shower gel, I shut off the tap and stepped out. Dripping from head to toe, I soaked the carpet as I contemplated how I was going to get out of the bathroom without being wet and stark naked.
I wasn't a straight A student and surgeon in training for nothing. Now was the time to put this big ole brain to good use.
Finishing almost an entire roll of toilet paper, I dabbed at my skin until I was fairly dry. With nothing else that would fit around my body in near sight, I picked up the carpet that I was standing on and squeezed out the excess water into the shower area. It fitted just right, wrapping around my upper body and main areas just once.

Romance"You were worried about me, Specs?" He smirked. "No, Tyler. I hoped that someone cut up your corpse and fed it to paranas. Obviously I was, you idiot! I'm a doctor. Worrying about people is kind of programmed into my system. It's a curse if you ask...
