Right, Jenna. It's time for a fresh start. A new college where nobody knows you. You can do this, I think, giving myself a little pep talk. After the undoubtably most stressful few days that I've ever been through, after finding out I passed 7 of the 11 GCSE exams that I'd taken. I'd expected to get all A's, but ended up getting 6 C's and 1 B. It'd shocked me a lot, and - in my haze of anxiety - opted out of Sixth Form where I'd do AS Levels, and ended up enrolling at the local college, studying a course that I wasn't even sure that I was 100% interested in. Luckily, today was an induction day to the college and the course, and - although I was really nervous - I was also a little excited.
But what if you can't do it? A voice inside of me suddenly pipes up.
I can do this. I'm interested in media. I've chosen this course because it sounds interesting.
But what if you realise it's the wrong course?
"Oomph. Oh, crap, I'm sorry." The impact of someone crashing into me, causing that person to fall to the floor, snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Hey, it's ok." I bend down to collect the person's belongings. I take a look at who I've bumped into when I give them their things; it's a boy not much older than me, who adjusts his cap and gives me a weak smile before looking at his phone. He's pretty cute.
"Is this Room 502?" He asks shyly.
"Yeah, it is. What course have you signed up for?"
"Creative media and technology."
"Oh, same here!" I reply, "I'm Jenna. Jenna Black."
"I'm Tyler Joseph." He shakes my hand, and then we walk into the classroom. I look down, and randomly choose an empty chair at the far end of the class, willing myself to shrink down. I feel the presence of someone coming over, and keep my head down. When the teacher starts to teach the lesson, I prepare to take notes, although I cannot help but peek at who chose to sit next to me.
It's Tyler Joseph.
