Tyler's point of view

"Ugh, I can't believe we've got physics today!" My girlfriend, Y/N, complains to me as we're to school.
"I know, but hey, it's our last exam. Then we've got freedom." I grin at her, and hold her hand. We cross the road, and walk through the fast food shop that's next door to our school. Y/N smiles at me.
"I really do love you, Ty, you know that right?"
"I do, Y/N, I do."

Once we get to school, we head off to the canteen to wait to be called into the exam room. I spot my friend, Josh, hunched over a textbook, obviously doing some last minute revision.
"Mind if we join you?" I ask, pulling out a chair to sit on. He doesn't answer, and I wonder why, but then I see the white headphones snaking down his ears and into his lap.
"Oi, J," Y/N snaps, pulling his headphones off. He glares at her, but then his face softens when he realises it's her.
"Oh, hey, Y/N, hey, Ty. You ready for the exam?"
"I'm very suspicious of myself that I haven't had a breakdown yet," Y/N chuckles, "but, yeah, I'm ready. Can I see your textbook? I wanna test you!"
"Jeez, maybe you shouldn't test me; you can test Tyler if you want," Josh says, passing her the textbook.
"Really, man?" I hiss at him, my face going red.
"Really! Now concentrate."
"Ok, Mr Tyler Joseph, what is the definition of acceleration?" Y/N asks me in her best teacher voice.
"Um, I'm not sure. Is it something to do with the rate of speed?"
"Well, you're half correct. Acceleration is the rate at which the speed of an object increases. Now, Josh, what is a force?"
He looks blankly at her.
"A force? Um, it's when you apply pressure to an object, right?"
"Wrong answer. It's a push or pull which acts between two objects."
"Crap."
"You'll be ok, man," I reassure him. Then - to my horror - the teacher is calling us into the exam room.
"I'm not ready," Josh says, his breathing accelerating as his gets out his equipment from his backpack.
"Dude, chill. You'll be fine. It's only for an hour." Y/N walks ahead of us, holding her see through pencil case.
"Good luck, buddy," I say to Josh, joining the queue.

Once inside the exam room, I'm a nervous wreck. Luckily, the exam paper is kind to us, and gives us the formulas that we need on the inside cover, so we don't have to remember it off by heart, unlike the disastrous maths papers.
"Ok, you may now begin," the invigilator states. There's an instant rustling of papers getting turned. People sigh, pencil cases are opening and closing, invigilators stalk up and down the rows of desks.

Finally - after all the papers are collected and rows are dismissed - I head out with Josh and Y/N through the school doors. Our arms are around each other's shoulders, and I know I've got the biggest smile on my face. Josh hugs me, then he hugs Y/N. I hug the pair of them.
"So, I guess this is it, huh?" I say.
"Well, I mean, we're in a band, and you're dating Y/N, but yeah, this'll be the last time we'll be in our school uniform," Josh smirks, running a hand through his hair.
"We made it," Y/N states.
"Yeah," me and Josh both say at the same time, "we did make it."
