Jack wakes up from another nightmare with tears in her eyes, they slowly run down her face as she lays hopeless in the old house she's holding up in, scared of what today will bring her. The girl has been through literally hell before this. Flashing back to when the world ended, Jack never thought she would find herself living in the apocalypse alone and worried, as she's desperately trying to keep herself alive. Things haven't always been easy for her since then and after the start she has been on her own for a while now trying to keep her distance from other survivors.

She's always weary on whether or not to trust anyone, because she knows that people are dangerous, and that causes her to think twice before making choices she will ultimately regret. She never knew much about survival but she tries nonetheless, and without having any understanding of weapons or self defense she still tries like hell, using a knife she has for minimal defense. Using only her basic instincts to help her along the way she found that killing walkers is the least of her problems.

The girl has been moving from different places for as long as she can for the past two years finding shelter wherever she felt it was safe. For the meantime she would call it home but somehow no matter where she would stay the dead would find her causing her to leave so regretfully, forcing her to once again look for another place of refuge. With her supplies running low it's getting harder and harder to find things, with most of the stores and houses she comes across are already wiped clean by other people, with nothing but useless junk left behind.

It becomes a struggle for Jack knowing if she doesn't find water or food soon she will become weaker, most likely she will end up dying from starvation or something much worse. Treading along the woods, her clothes are covered in mud and soaking wet, her boots almost falling apart, Jack tries desperately to keep going but it's been really hard for her not having anyone to help her or the fact that she has no idea where to go or worse yet if she is going to live another day. Her body is slowly lacking the proper nutrients and she is starting to fall weaker by the day needing water most of all.

With hardly any fight left in her Jack keeps her head up, and the only thing that is keeping her alive is hope she will be okay. She travels down an old highway needing to find some shelter before dark. Coming across an old car she climbs in settling down for the night inside the backseat luckily finding a can of beans stowed away inside. Knowing how bad she needs to get some rest she takes off her small backpack placing it on the seat to rest her head before closing her eyes, hoping the next day she can continue searching for her last bid of hope.

The morning comes with the sunrise glaring into the windows of the car, Jack awakens and pulls herself up from the seat and she grabs her backpack.

Looking through it for her notebook she uses as a journal she always found that writing down what she's thinking is a soothing way for her to escape from the horrible world. Jack has always been an avid writer, jotting down her thoughts every single day and sometimes writing some songs as well. Most times she writes about her day or what she sees along the way in her travels. After a while Jack started writing about her dreams of being a singer someday and how she wished for her old life back. She knows that things will never be that way again and life is what it is now and she has to painfully live with it.
