Chapter 69 - You Asshole

Gunshots bounce off the black car that Negan is climbing out of, and when he does he notices Rick is the one shooting at him, and he hides behind the overturned car as Rick approaches him, still shooting. The shooting stops, and Rick drops the gun as Negan looks over to a building and he goes for it with Rick hot on his tail.

Negan makes his way inside busting down the door and he watches as Rick follows him inside. He waits by the door for him to enter, almost hitting him directly with Lucille but misses hitting the door frame, as Rick slides down on the floor. Negan swings again this time missing Rick again, hitting the floor beside him and he makes a run for it. Rick pulls out another gun aiming for Negan as he runs away.

Walkers crowd into the building as well, and Negan runs around the corner, noticing the floor is knocked out and then he sees some steps and runs up to the top, while Rick runs out of bullets. He laughs realizing that his enemy is pretty much done for now. "Hey, prick. You are out of bullets" Rick pulls out his hatchet. "Come on up here" he swings his bat around a few times awaiting him to actually confront him.

Running towards the steps, Rick throws his ax nearly clipping Negan's head as he darts to avoid it. He loses his footing, falling off the stair case as he drops Lucille and dangles. "Lucille! He yells out as he watches her fall to the basement below. Rick walks up the steps, as Negan holds on to the ledge and he pulls his ax out of the wall. "Oh, you asshole" he exclaims as Rick comes closer to him, anxious to finish him off.

The look of rage in his blue eyes, as he has Negan holding on for life and he can finish him off now if he wants too. The man standing above him now, gets ready to swing his ax down on his hands, but Negan makes eye contact right before he lets go, plummeting to the basement below, a long drop beats him up just a little. Rick watches him fall as he hits the floor below, dust flying, and he stalks down the steps looking for him unsure if he is still alive and he is sure that he is.

Negan slowly rises back up, his back is sore now but he has a mission to get out of this building and back to his people and most importantly his girl. He needs to find Lucille, and Rick is hunting him now, in the dark and Negan is defenseless almost without Lucille. Rick makes his way down, whistling and he uses a lighter to see. "You still alive" he yells out and Negan hears him while he continues to search for his bat.

"I'm a goddamn fuckin' cat" there is a long pause as Negan feels his way around for his barbed wire bat in complete darkness. "Come, on baby where are ya? He whispers out. Walkers begin to fall through the floor where he is so he gets up and runs the other way.

"So where's your people?" Rick shouts out. They should be here by now" his voice echos through the eerie and cold basement. "We didn't get that far"

"Oh they're coming, i can fuckin' assure you that"

"This is where you die..in the dark all alone" the man sounds serious and delusional and Negan is a little pissed off at his threats and frankly he is sick of it.

"What the hell is your fuckin' problem Rick? Huh? I mean i know you're working through some shit..the worst kind of shit i know all about, but if you aren't the most stubborn know it all fucking prick i have ever crossed dicks with..why didn't you just let me save you Rick? I'm fuckin' good at it. I saved everybody at the sanctuary, the outpost, Hilltop, Kingdom..i saved them all and their kids...can grow up safe"

Negan doesn't really want Rick to know about Jack being pregnant, he knows eventually she can't hide it anymore but if his enemies know she would most likely be used against him and he can't have that at all. "They didn't lose one after we took over. All those people, were doing just fuckin' fine before Rick fucking Grimes" he yells out with anger and it echoes loud enough for Rick to hear every word.
