Mutsumi quickly shoved Akira off of her as the rest of the plates managed to squeeze past the rubble, quickly folding back into the ceiling. The paleobotanist was completely still under the heavy plate, rubble piled on top of it.

Mutsumi began digging through the rubble, breathing heavily as the sharp tiles cut into her fingers through her gloves. "Akira, help me! He needs to get out! He can't get stuck there! He can't!"

She barely registered what she was doing, but her body moved on its own, and soon she was right next to Mutsumi, digging through piles of rubble and to get to Obokata. The two pushed the small pile off of the plate. Akira's hands burned, bleeding and dirty from all of the dust in the air. Still, she helped the snowboarder lift the tray.

"Obo... kata?" She asked weakly.

He didn't respond.

She moved a trembling arm to shake him, gasping and closing her eyes. "...He's cold. I... This is all my fault, I- I shouldn't have come here or we wouldn't have found that button- I-"

Mutsumi finally snapped, scooping up his body in her arms and lowering her head so Akira couldn't see her as she let out the most heartwrenching sob she had ever heard into his spiky hair. "He's dead because of me!"

Akira, fueled by anger, rubbed her throbbing arm and darted for a snickering Tokihiko, grabbing him roughly by the collar and pulling him into the air. "You! You did this! You bastard- you murderer! You-"

"Calling me names won't change anything," Tokihiko sneered, "and I will not be the one you will want to kill once Hoggokuma finds out about this-"

"Too late, fucker."

Akira turned around, dropping the negotiator onto the ground and completely ignoring his yelp of pain as she did so. The door to the control room was burst open, Chiemi and Shianko standing behind a fuming Hejjikuma.

"You fucking trashed this place!" He exclaimed. "I swear to God, I should have the four of you-"

"Three," Tokihiko corrected, holding back a smile as he laid on the ground and seemed to curl into himself at Akira's glare. "He's dead."

"He's what?!" Chiemi screamed, rushing into the room and shoving Hejjikuma face-first into a pile of rubble. "What- What happened?! Why is Mutsumi here?! Why is Tokihiko here?!"

"Oh my God..." Shinako buried her face in her hands. "Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God-"

Hejjikuma pulled himself out with a snort. "Yeah, you should freak out. I knew you coming to talk to me with her was suspicious. You're just asking for a new, unplanned motive, Shinako."

"Wait, what? What does Shinako have to do with anything?" Chiemi spun around, crossing her arms. "She's innocent."

"Not really," Hejjikuma snickered. "First, let's get this loser some help. Can't have him dying like that on us."

"He's already dead!" Mutsumi insisted, clutching the body close to her. "Don't- Don't touch him!"

"I'll kill him myself if you don't give it," Hejjikuma snatched the body away from her with no resistance. "All of you get out. I'll fix him myself and then I'll announce the next motive. You fuckers asked for it."
