"Oh, har har har." Rei sneered sarcastically. "You bastards. First, you kill off one of my only friends. Then, you pretend he's still alive for ' ratings ' or something."

Alive or not, Raizo certainly looked dead. Half of his face was completely burnt, eyes baggy and red. "R-Rei, I'm... I'm not dead."

"I dunno. You looked pretty dead when we found you." Rei murmured. "Maybe prove you're not a fake... Hejji.. clone or something and then I'll believe you."

"Uhm... how?" ' Raizo ' asked nervously.

I should have a question that can prove if this is the real Raizo or not.

[ What question will prove if this Raizo is real? ]

1. Ask him about Mioko

2. Ask him about a cat

3. Ask him about the promise

"I got it!"

[ BREAK! ]

"Well, I have a question in mind." Akira said, earning Raizo's attention pretty quickly. "...So, do you know any cats per-say?"

"Oh! Yeah! Mana! That cat  you let me take care of after Tokihiko injured your arm!" Raizo perked up and nodded. "S-See? I am real!"

Rei blinked a few times, completely dumbfounded. "I- h-how? You... were dead in the hidden room, I-"

She suddenly seemed to realize the circumstances and let out a heartwrenching sob, bolting from her podium to squeeze Raizo in a bear hug, to which he winced in pain. "Oh, you're real! I thought I lost you! I'm so sorry!"

Raizo seemed oddly serious for, y'know, Raizo. "Akira... d-do you know what that means?" He asked seriously as he hugged Rei back like his life depended on it.

Her face paled.

If Tokihiko was dead, and Raizo was alive, that could only mean...

"Hey, um, not to interrupt, but... how are you alive? Rei and Akira seemed pretty certain you were dead." Chiemi pointed out. "Not that I'm not happy to see you, of course. I am, but I'm just curious."

"Did Tokihiko tell 'ya to play dead too?" Obokata asked.

"Ah, no... he died thinking I died with him." Raizo shook his head and smiled sheepishly. "...I couldn't let you guys vote wrong. You're all my friends."

Wait, Raizo being alive would actually... explain that one thing.

Yeah. Maybe Yuuna actually had something to do with it.

[ What evidence in the trial room supports Raizo being alive? ]

"Well, when we arrived here..." Akira murmured to herself. "...I think we all forgot about this, but Raizo didn't have a portrait like Tokihiko did. Maybe it's because of Yuuna that he's alive. Maybe... Raizo dying wasn't in ' the plan ' she describes in her diary entries."

"A-Actually? Tokihiko dying wasn't part of her plan either." Raizo corrected with a hoarse voice - likely his throat hurt. If that hot wax was on him, some of it could've slipped down his throat while they were investigating. "...At least, not him dying this late. He was supposed to die in the third trial."

"Wh- then why didn't he?!" Naoki accused.

"Because he knows." Raizo shrugged. "Shinako was right. I really can't tell you, but I trust you'll all figure it out! Ah... I hope I don't sound selfish."
