Question of The Day:

Is the fact that this is the 71st part good or bad? Lmao it feels really long

this is where it gets spicy :) (also sorry for a short chapter :(( wanted to leave it on a cliffhanger and also that's basically it for the investigation anyway lol)

(which is never good to hear from a fangan)

Akira had actually never been in her arcade until now. There were too many lights and it almost blinded her when she first entered. "Ugh- why's it so bright in here?"

"It's an arcade," Tokihiko replied bluntly. He started to look around the area for something, and then-

"Uuf!"

She turned over to look at him, confusion riding over her face at the sight of him face-down on the floor. "You okay there?"

When he didn't respond, she made her way over and almost tripped herself. She kneeled down carefully and helped him up. "Why is the floor so slippery here?"

He shrugged, holding a hand over his nose. He turned around and wordlessly pointed to an empty bottle on the floor, a label on the cracked glass. She picked it up and read the label.

' 100% Pure Olive Oil '.

"Olive oil?" She murmured. She turned the glass over, the top broke off along with a part of the bottom. "It's broken. Someone must've thrown it."

"Oh! That's why the ground beneath Shinako was slippery!" Tokihiko realized, perking up. "Ah. Thy savvies now."

"Ground beneath Shinako? Elaborate, please?"

"Thy perceived a byway. That must've been oil," he explained, though it was just as vague as his original statement. Akira accepted it and huffed.

The two concluded that Akira, in fact, did not have arrows that matched the one lodged into Shinako's skull. That was when she noticed Tokihiko beginning to question how suspicious she was. At least he understood.

"If it didn't come from my arcade, where did those arrows come from?" Akira asked herself. Her arcade would be the only one with arrows, correct? No other talents seemed to match the need for it.

"If you wave the arrows around, they make a little ' whoosh ' sound!"

Oh! That's it!

Akira stopped Tokihiko and pointed to Shinako's arcade. "The arrow may have come from her arcade. She told me about how she used them to mimic wind. Should we check, just in case?"

"We checked already. Yeah, that's where the metal arrow came from."

Obokata and Mutsumi walked up to them, the latter waving and smiling like their friend wasn't dead. "Hey, guys!" She chirped. "Find anything?"

"A lot, actually." Akira replied. "Tokihiko can tell you about it. I need to check something over by Shinako's body." Now, it wasn't that she didn't trust Tokihiko, but she didn't trust Tokihiko. She wanted to walk over and see if there really was oil by her body as well, but Mutsumi noticed her staring and grew serious.

"I know what you're thinking," she whispered, hand on the archer's shoulder. "Come with me. Tokihiko can distract Kata, I guess."

"What's this about, Sumi?"

"You'll see."

-

She led her to Shinako's body and kneeled down, pointing towards the oil trail. "So, it starts here, and it smudges and leads to..."

Akira looked up, taking her a few seconds to realize. "...Your arcade? Are... Are you being framed?"

Mutsumi shook her head and looked down. "No. I'm not being framed."

"Then what else is it?"

She closed her eyes. "I'm not being framed because...

I did it. I killed Shinako."
