Just then, Edward woke up.
"You're going? " he asked her.
She nodded.
He jumped from the bed "wait let's go together " he said and began to walk to the bathroom..
She sat back on his bed staring at the floor.
I watched her like a predator observing his prey..she knew I was staring at her but she kept her gaze on the floor.
"Barney, na you keep water for bucket? " Edward asked from the bathroom breaking the silence.
"No use am o" I responded and the quietness continued.
The atmosphere was getting too awkward..just then Edward walked in and I gave a sigh of relief...
I turned to sleeping Vikky besides me and stroke her hair gently as Edward got cleaned and dressed..
I just kept smiling at her sleeping as if it was an hobby..
"Barney"Edward pulled me back to consciousness.
"we Don dey go" he said
I nodded.
"Make you na no too do eyeh? " Edward said laughing as he went outside with Jasmine who just kept smiling and avoiding eye contact.
I stood to lock the door behind them and heard Edward laughing harder.
I stood at the door smiling..
"Good morning dad" Vikky spoke and I almost jumped out of my skin.
I turned and she was already sitting on the bed chuckling softly.
"Did I scare you? " she asked.
"well.. Kinda" we both laughed.
"How was your night? "
"Fine dad, yours?"
"cool, your water is ready" I said as I walked to her.
She got up slowly and staggered towards me.
I held her hand and led her to the bathroom.
As she went in, my mind began to recall all Jasmine said.
She was right..Vikky loved me,
But it still didn't seem right,there was Eugene..and the guy trusts me.. I punched the wall.
"What's that? "Vikky asked..
"ah, nothing"I said and began whistling.
I'd take her to her lodge, I thought to myself, find Eugene and settle things between them and stay out of everything.
I nodded.
I wasn't going to take advantage of their misunderstanding and come between them.
I slowly walked back to the main room and sat down.
I Picked her phone and saw the missed call of her mum increasing and still no call from Eugene.
I went to the bathroom door again.
"We need to reach your mum, she must be worried" I said.
"I called her before you came to pick me from the park.. " She replied from inside the room..." I used one of the driver's phone"
"She's still calling tho." I said.
" I'd use your phone to reach her when I'm done here Kay? "
"okay. " I returned to the main room again and as I was about to sit on the bed she came out of the bathroom wrapped in my towel.
My eyes widened in shock and something else..
She was beautiful even without trying.
"I'd need that jersey again " she giggled.
"Okay" I chuckled and stood up to go get another of my jersey for her..
She was standing in the way of where my clothes were..
"Sorry excuse"I said smiling widely, trying to avoid staring at her amazing body..okay I was staring at her body and not her eyes!
Damn! I hit myself and she chuckled but still didn't get out of the way.
I managed to look at her face.
"You're in the way" I managed to say.
She still didn't go instead took my hand and pulled me close..
My eyes widened as if I was been pulled to my end.
"Why are you fighting? " She asked.
"Fighting how? " I asked fully aware of what she meant.
"This" she said as she put her second hand on my shoulder.. Our bodies began to touch, her wet skin begin to soak my cloth.
She looked down at the floor then stood on her toes still looking at the floor.
I tried to move back but she held me hard and then looked into my eyes for a second and I couldn't look away.. I watched as her eyes went to my lips and how she bit hers.
I was stronger than her but I just felt paralyzed at this moment..
She drew closer till our lips touched.
She kissed my closed lips asking for entrance..
I wasn't going to op... Shit..!
My lips unconsciously opened and she pushed hers inside closing her eyes,
She took her second hand to my neck and wrapped both hands around me.
I tried to get myself to fight this but it was like I was in a dream where I couldn't move a thing, Like a board, I kept getting wiped blank.
Like under a spell,my lips just followed her instructions.
She kept going deeper, cutting off all my self control.
I tried to find my hands but alas they were wrapped around her waist.
I tried to find my voice but I heard it moaning silently.
I gave up.
I was betrayed by my own body.
Just then she stopped and pulled from the kiss and I stood there looking like a kid just waking from sleep.
She stared at me sad..
"See? " she started..."You want this, you want me, " She paused and looked away for some seconds and turned back slowly and looked into my eyes.
"I want you too" she said.
She stared at me as if expecting me to say something but I was dumb at that moment.
"I'm helpless in this battle you're fighting against yourself and it's hurting me" she said turning away to the wall.
"wh... "I started, trying to recover like a walkie talkie regaining signal but na.. The voice just wouldn't come back.
"Maybe I ain't strong enough or your type" she added looking from her shoulders.
"Eu...ge..ne" I managed to mutter out.
I heard her sigh and there was silence.
"You were the reason we happened" she spoke silently.
Wait what? "How?" my voice coming back.
She turned to look at me her eyes teary.
"From the first time we met, I've always wanted us" She said.
I pinched my self to be sure I wasn't dreaming.
"But I saw you and Jasmine happy together, " she continued.. "I decided to be your school daughter"
I looked at her in some kind of doubt.
"But when things got bad between you two" she continued "I came and made so many signs,you were so broken and then we kissed, " she paused.
"You were my first" she frowned "remember? "
I tried to say something..
"You were my first kiss Dad" she said as if confirming it.
"Can you not call me dad for the moment? It sounds awkward" I tried to bring in some humour..
But she wasn't accepting it.
"I'm sorry, go on" I said.
"You were my first kiss.. "
"Yes" I said feeling shy.
"I gave you that because I felt you loved me like I did, so when Eugene approached me I introduced him to you thinking you'd be jealous and try to fight to keep me... " she said fast and then slowed down to say... "But you acted so cool,like I didn't matter"
I drew close to her this time. That's wasn't why I did that.. " Vik..." I wanted to explain
"I understand Dad, " she cut in "I knew you did it because you wanted to make me happy but I wanted you to fight to keep me"
I just stared at her now..
"You're scared that I'd break you like Jasmine... "
I just stood there...
"I'm not a player dad," she said.. " But why would I still kiss you this way and do all this carefree things with you if I don't want you?"
"Now you're bringing up Eugene as if I am cheating" she said.. "Maybe I am.. Geez " she tapped her hand on her head and began pacing around.
I didn't know what to do..
Okay, she was in a situation I put her in but I didn't do it intentionally.
"What if? " I began
And she paused and stared at me with expectations in her eyes.
"What if Eugene calls later and we fix this between you and him" I said and watched as her eye brows dropped like her expectations and she gave me that "really? " stare.
I pulled my hair in frustration.
We both stared at ourselves breathing fast..
We wanted each other.
But we...
"Not we Barney" she said as if she read(red) my thoughts.."Just you,you're the one shutting me out" she said and walked to sit on the bed.
I stared at my wardrobe not knowing what brought me to it..
"You wanted to bring me a Jersey" she figured my thought again!
How does she keep doing that???!!! I yelled in my mind.
Just then my phone rang....
